Bread -- no butter, Soup -- no spoon. Wrong entrees. Half hour bewtween courses. Like being in an SNL skit. Nearby tables had similar issues. No leadership. Pretty faces who don't know their jobs.
Avoid this place. Much better choices in Newport!

Just returned from a wonderful stay 5/31 at this great Hotel. Everything here is just as advertised or better and the service was second to none. Upon check in I informed them we were celebrating my fiancés birthday and she would be arriving later. After she arrived at the hotel a bottle of wine with strawberries and truffles were delivered to the room with a handwritten happy birthday note! She was very excited and the kind gesture made her day. The hotel bar I believe may be the best in town as it is on the water, well designed, and the service is first class. Prior to our stay we had been here for dinner once, breakfast twice, and we visit the bar every time we are in town. Every visit so far has been great and we never have any complaints. I want to thank the staff for making her birthday stay such a special one not just with the wine and chocolates but the entire experience. We will definitely return here in the future.

I really liked this hotel. Fun lobby, good location, comfortable bed. Bathroom was very nice and spacious, with a huge bathtub! Nice views of the water from the rooms and from the deck off the lobby, where you can sit and drink coffee or have a cocktail. The hotel staff were all very nice. A lot of good shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. Location is perfect for walking to nearby shopping and dining. Very modern decor and beautiful views. Didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel as we felt it was too expensive. Rooms were very clean, bed and bathroom very comfortable. We found chairs in the room to be uncomfortable due to their straight back modern style. Staff made us feel personally welcome. Overall a nice experience:-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. We had a water view but no outdoor space to sit outside and enjoy it.

We went during low season and got upgraded to their best suite, a pleasant surprise. It is almost as large as my apartment. Very well designed room. Bright with many windows overlooking the waterfront. Amazing bathroom. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional. There is a limo service that takes you around town. There is a fantastic restaurant and bar downstairs. The only thing is that they charge for parking, which is pricey. We had a pleasant weekend and highly recommend this place.

As someone else had mentioned, it is rather hip and trendy. It's a very nice place to stay and I would stay there again. Housekeeping does an excellent job and everything is really clean and well kept. All the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are very well done, bright, great views, and the decor is very nice. I especially liked the books that were in the room.

There were a few things that could have been improved upon. I did not understand why there was music playing in the hallway until almost 11:00 PM. There is an in-room safe but I needed to use a chair to reach into it and I'm 5' 10". We had issues with the safe and the IPod dock but building maintenance quickly addressed those. I wish they had mentioned there was a stand for the luggage, I found it under the bed the day I left. I also don't get the parking situation. Parking is $25.00 a night and they want you to use the valet but the lot is quite small and directly in front of the building. I would have thought they would have waived the parking fee in the off-season since the lot was half full. The extra charge just seemed like a little bit of a jab.

All in all the good far outweighed the negatives.

This hotel is hip and trendy, but is that why we go to Newport? The room was very comfortable with plenty of light, a fireplace, big TV, huge bathroom, iPad, and place to dock your iPod. Since it was pre-season, it wasn't busy, yet because of the hard surfaces, just one other conversation could make the lobby seem noisy. There was no one to greet us when we arrived, neither at parking or at the door. As a result, we rolled our luggage onto a ground floor elevator and ended up in the kitchen. Once we encountered staff, however, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room included breakfast, which turned out to be plentiful and delicious. They're working on a dock right next to the hotel, so our water view included two giant cranes. Fortunately, one was gone the next day, and the noise was minimal. Not so quiet was the music piped into the hallway right outside the room. If hip chic is your thing, this is for you. If New England charm is what you're after, I'd suggest you keep looking.
