This is awesome to see across the bay into some of the most beautiful waters you will ever see. It has a sail school, a boat launch and much more.

We had the distinct opportunity to witness a civil reenactment here...what a place full of history. Take the time to visit this place, the sights are good, the ocean view is unique...

So glad that you and your family enjoyed the Fort! Next year's Civil War Reenactment will be taking place the weekend of July 14-15th. There are big changes coming to the Fort in 2012, with three new tours taking visitors into areas previously inaccessible. If you find yourself back this way be sure to check us out again.

Awesome views of the water, sail boats and cruise ships when they are in port. Excellent place to take picture, we often see weddings here. There is also a small boating musum here as well.

This is a well preserved fort (never tested in battle) that has excellent views of the harbor, city, surrounding hills, and mansions (across the bay.) President Eisenhower used to stay here (in Eisenhower House) during some summers of his presidency (so he could golf at the Newport CC.) The large lawn by the fort is frequently used for large events (e.g. jazz festivals.)

If you are into military fort archetecture you will enjoy this ediface. My wife and I enjoyed it primarily for the great views it afforded. It is certainly worth the drive over, if only for a few minutes.

This is an awesome fort to visit if you enjoy this sort of thing. I have visited the fort twice and it is neat to see the restoration that has been made between visits. Fort Adams is simply amazing in its size. It is as large as 3 normal forts put together! The tour guide was excellent at explained the history from the origins of the fort all the way to when it was abandoned. We even got to go into the listening tunnels - which was very cool!
