This is a must see walk while you are in Newport. Make sure you have some comfortable walking shoes and take off on the Cliff Walk. You will see some of the most beautiful homes in our nation. Not to mention the rugged shore line with scenic vistas which abuts the walk. Please enjoy this free bit of nature and be sure to bring the camera.

unfortunately there was a section closed. The section we wanted to see. Not sure what is wrong but think maybe storm damage. I will go back next year and hope that area is open once again.

I'm sure the entire cliff walk would be amazing however due to recent storms half the walk is closed. Unfortunately, the half that is closed is the half where you can view the mansions from the back yards. The city is in contract for bids to repair the damage. I will definitely take another trip to the cliff walk.

I would highly recommend the Cliff Walk - spectacular views of the ocean and several of the famous Newport mansions. BUT - avoid it during hot weather as there is little shade and - as my friend and I found out - parts are now closed for repairs due to damage from last year's Hurricane Sandy. We started at the very beginning but had to exit at Ruggles Avenue.
