Owner description: A Newport church where George Washington once attended.

We popped in to Trinity Church during the day while walking downtown because it was Easter and I wanted to see the location made (semi) famous by Moonrise Kingdom. What a magnificent, historical location. The grounds, as well, were peaceful and serene, and we spent some time reading the centuries-old tombstones.

I was in total awe when I first looked up Queen Anne Square, and saw the magnificent spire of Trinity Church. The church , built in 1726 is the model for most all spired churches thru out New England. On the interior of this beautiful structure you will find a 'Wineglass' pulpit, which is possibly the only one left in the US.
I felt priviledged to sit in the same cubicle used by our First President, when he visited Newport during the Revolutionary War years.
Trinity is visible from most all locations, so, you can't miss this wonderful place.

The beauty and simplicity of this church are remarkable, and some of its features (pulpit, altar) are unique. And, the rector gives a fine sermon!

This is a church frequented by our first president, George Washington when he was anywhere in the area. Beautiful inside and outside. The rector is a friendly and helpful person who obviously loves her job.

Beautiful, distinctive and historic church with members who love to share it with others. Look for the Tiffany windows and give a donation to help them keep it up.
