Booked through Hotwire & great deal for U.S. shopping trip - Niagara Falls, N.Y. & outlet malls not far away & hotel very close to highway. Spacious room, comfortable & clean. Hotel was beautifully decorated with many Christmas trees (hospital fundraising gala) which added to decor. Only downside was that coffee shop/cafe was closed for this event = long restaurant wait. Will definitely stay here again.

First, the check in process- the staff could not have tried any harder to make us feel welcome. Coming out from behind the counter is a nice subtle touch.

Second- the room decor is very nice, always clean and fresh.

We arrived during a large Disco convention. One of the guests advised 7000 people were attending. While it was fun to people watch and see the costumes of the mostly 50-to-60 something guests, I was surprised at the lack of consideration so many of them had for other guests. With this said, we asked to be moved from the 11th floor to a quieter room (if possible). Again the staff could not have been nicer. We were placed in 1202- a corner room set away from the other rooms and had a great nights sleep.

This was a mother-daughter 1-night getaway. We elected to stay downtown to attend an improv show (very good) at Shea's. This hotel is very convenient to the theatre. Also, we elect to self-park as there is ample parking around the hotel.

Breakfast in the atrium at the hotel was a lovely way to end our getaway.

Room Tip: Rooms ending in 01, 02, and (somewhat) 03 are at ends and at an angle such that they are isolated fr...

Thank you so much for the kind comments about our hotel. This is exactly the customer service we provide for all of our guests. I am very pleased that you were moved to a more quiet comfortable room for your visit with your daughter.

Again thank you for your comments, we really appreciate you taking the time to compliment the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

I've stayed here several times. though I know it doesn't have much competition, this is a great hotel. Service, lobby, and rooms are all at a very very high standard. Other hotels could take a lesson from this Hyatt. And I'm not even saying that because of the fresh baked cookies and milk room service offers! Fresh, Enjoyable breakfast in the lobby as well.

Every month I cross the border between US-Canada via Buffalo and this hotel is always out 1st choice. Most of the times I book thru priceline/hot-wire and never regretted. Kids love the hotel- relatively bigger room, good location, helpful staffs and clean. Though it's a bit far from known shopping malls and has a very small pool, yet, it's worth staying here. Overall had a very comfortable stay each time we been there!

Great service, from check in to the various workers around the hotel to the waiters at the atrium cafe (which has amazing food by the way, the angus burger is ridiculous). Nice rooms and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Life sized gingerbread house = awesome. I had to kill some time after checking out because my boyfriend had interviews in the area and the staff was so kind in making sure I wasn't bored out of my mind (Buffalo is not the most exciting city). The parking situation wasn't bad - the lot literally across from the street from the hotel is cheap and safe.

We decided to cross the border to do some shopping and fully expected our stay at the Hyatt to be somewhat of a downgrade compared to our previous night at Great Wolf Lodge. Much to our delight not only were the staff incredibly helpful and friendly, we honestly felt each employee surpassed the hospitality of Great Wolf Lodge!

The lobby was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and gingerbread houses for a charity fundraiser, the elevators were modernized with digital displays and touch-screen controls, the hallways were lightly scented and clean, and though we only had a standard room it was also impressive with how clean and neat it was. If there was an area of lesser strength it would be the outdated pool area. It's rather small with the surrounding area (sauna & change rooms) being equally small and outdated. My family and I felt the addition of early morning swim times (on weekends) plus a hot tub would also greatly increase the profile and attractiveness of this top quality hotel.

The parking situation is a bit overblown in my opinion. Granted, you do have to park in a parking lot across the road, but the rate is reasonable (we only paid $6 for 1-night/2-days) and the walk will take you less than 3-4min to get to the front door.

Overall we had a great experience!

Stayed one night for a special event. I would actually make this 3.5 stars if I could, the big marks against them are that the parking situation is not very good (no street parking on bus routes during the winter months, $20 for valet or $5 for garage across the street), there is no continental breakfast and that some things feel a bit dated - but they're going through a renovation so cut them some slack and let's be honest, people don't always treat hotel property with respect. Yes, the elevators were a little slow but nothing absurd. I liked the decor, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about, the place was fine. Not top notch exactly but very good. I have never stayed at another Hyatt so I can't really compare it with any others. I did get a screaming deal on Priceline, worth looking into if you are a last-minute traveler.
