Description: This diner is a circa 1952 Mountain View Diner Vin. #446. It was saved from demolition and moved from Wayne, Pennsylvania to Buffalo in 2001. Restored and equipped with a modern state of the art kitchen and knowledgeable and passionate staff, the Lake effect continues to humbly serve wholesome and fresh locally procured ingredients prepared the way they should be.....from scratch! From field to fork, our facility makes artisanal fresh, cured and smoked meats. Eggs are delivered from the Kreher Family Farm right up the road. All bread is baked fresh in house daily.

“Nothing special to say the least.”

We thought we'd give it a try because it appeard on foodnetwork channel (diners, drive-ins and dives).
To start off we were the only ones there at dinner time on a Saturday, the inside definitely needs some work/cleaning .. Bathrooms were disgusting.
Food wasn't great and the milkshakes weren't any better then a fast food joint. Certainly not impressed.
Won't be a return costumer. $80 for two kids that shared pancakes and two adult specialt sandwiches.

“Just OK”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Wait staff was friendly when we came in and we were expecting great things after Food Network show. We started with chili fries - EXCELLENT! BUT waited and waited and waited for our order to come out. Rueben was just OK - meatloaf sandwich had burned meatloaf and the salad was average. The milkshake was watery. We had to ask for refills on water. Unanimous decision not to go back.

“Sides and Desert worth going back too”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

The desert (chocolate peanut butter pie) is worth another visit, and a 4 out of 5!!
The mains were OK, the sides were good... not memorable enough to comment on though.
It is not the cleanest restaurant...

“Loved it. ”

I stopped here with my kids due to the food network show. It is one of my favorites from the show. The building is cool. And all four meals that we ordered were great. A good place to stop in to.
