Went with co-workers and enjoyed a great lunch. Wait staff is friendly and efficient even with a room filled with joking women. Food is always good and hot when served.

recently went to chef's, and it was good but not great. I remember years ago when it was a true family restaurant and they cared about the quality they put out. Now it's just a restaurant with a drive thru , just like Burger king or Wendy's. They have gotten too big, touristy, and greedy for money.

Attended a buffet. Food was average. The italian bread was GREAT! Many locals havwe said they really like this restaurant. Maybe the sit down dinners are better than the buffet food.

Chef's is one of Buffalo's most famous restaurants. They have been around for decades. We visited for the first time to finally see what all the Hipe was about. The restaurant was on the outskirts of downtown Buffalo and there was plenty of parking. It was a large restaurant decorated with the red and white checkered tablecloths and pictures of local and other celebrites. the hostess was pleasant and took us to our table right away. After a moment , our waitress came over and said "Are you ready to order?" whatever happened to saying hello and asking if we have ever been there before? We could barely hear her and she admitted to being a low talker. We ordered a half portion of manicotti and spaghetti with meatball and sausage. We had to ask her about portion sizes , but she was not very descriptive or clear. We also ordered salads. Soft delicious bread comes with dinner, but I wish it were warmed. The salads were bigger than I thought, but only had iceberg lettuce, tomato and carrots. When my order came it had 2 small manicotti. I thought I should have ordered the large. It ended up to be just enough with bread and salad. The food was very good and the sauce was slightly sweet and delicious. We did not see much of our waitress to ask for more sauce and bread. The table next to us had an extremely attentive waitress, but it was obvious they were a well to do older couple that were regulars. The meal was rather pricy considering we only had 2 sodas and no dessert with appetizers. It would have been nice if our waitress told us more about their specialties, specials, sizes, pastas, etc.
