Having frequented Lombardo often (but not in 5 years!) we were disappointed on our return. From the beginning, literally, it was semi-professional.
The receptionist claimed our hosts were not there yet (we saw their car outside). We pressed - he insisted. Finally someone came over to intercede and said, "Yes. Your party is this way".
A food allergy required we request an ingredient be left out of a course. We were told, "No problem". The dish arrived with the ingredient present (and hard to miss - mushrooms). I asked, "How did you ensure the kitchen observed our request?". Remarkably, the waiter had the gall to say, "Oh, it is no problem. They said it would easy." -- all while the offensive ingredient was staring us in the face. Amazing!
A lamb dish ordered was tough and gristly. All the main courses had the same rice accompaniment!
Oh well. At least we now know why Lomabado was 3/4+ empty on a Saturday night.
