You've tried the rest. If you ever find yourself in Buffalo, you might as well try the best, or at least the original. Locals might debate whether the Anchor Bar or Duffs serve up the best wings in town, but there can be no debate that Anchor Bar started the frenzy of love around chicken wings. This buffalo landmark has transformed the wing into a cultural icon of this once flourishing city, and this is still the place to taste them. Part tourist attraction, part gastronomical shrine, the funky building on Main St is waiting to serve heaps of the delicacy to one and all.

Just the right combo of heat, meat and nice crisp texture, you will get your fill here. Don't stint on the blue cheese sauce and celery. And do make the side trip. For the brave at heart, fire up the suicidal variety, all others step aside. It's fun, the right touch of tacky, and they taste pretty darn great!

I figured while passing through Buffalo why not stop at the place where buffalo wings were first served. Was glad to see a parking lot so I didn't have to worry about parking on the street. We got there shortly before the lunch rush was done, got a seat right away, and the food was served fast. I had the hot, which weren't hot enough for me, but my niece thought they were. They were good and crispy. We ordered a 20 count for my niece and son to share and a 10 count for me. Added to that were onion rings and fries. There was a lot of food on the table. The onion rings were really good and my son enjoyed the fries. The wings are pricey, but not much more than Buffalo Wild Wings. The atmosphere was typical of a place like this with license plates, autographed pictures, news clippings, and memorabilia on the walls. They also have a gift shop whose items are very reasonably priced.

Perhaps it was the history, and perhaps the wings are really that good.
What can you possibly do to differentiate chicken wings from the competition.
Their chicken wings are large, meaty, juicy (not greasy) and crispy (not over cooked).
Their hot sauce is just right.
What more can you ask for?
It was fun to eat at the place that started the concept of chicken wings and they were the best we've had.

My family while passing through Buffalo stopped for lunch. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, the service was prompt. The pizza we ordered was probably the best my family had ever had. We had the mild wings (Anchor Bar was the first to serve Buffalo chicken wings) which were excellent. The anchor chips were delicious too.

Nothing fancy but the food was very good. Free parking too!

Imagine going to Italy and visiting the place where the first pizza was made, Germany and visiting the birthplace of the first Hot Dog. This is such a place. In the food business it is very hard to be a trend setter. So this is not really about the wings though they were great. It's not really about the service, though Liam was wonderful in a New York Kinda way. It's not about the price, though it's hard to feed 3 people for less than $50. It's about visiting an original, a landmark and enjoying the experience. If you're ever in Buffalo, this place is a must
