“Unexpectedly impressed!”
Reviewed May 24, 2008

I toured the botanical gardens with my mother, who is a very good hobby gardener and grower of orchids. The large variety of plants and flowers impressed her, and we found many things that were unusual to both of us.

A look at the schedule shows many special events during the year. The day we visited was the annual plant sale fundraiser (I bought a banana plant at a very good price) and a very impressive bonsai show. I would visit again in another season, and another special event.

We spent about two hours touring the botanical gardens, but because it was raining and early spring, we only did the greenhouse. While in the area, we also visited the Our Lady of Victory Basilica on the corner of Ridge Road and S Park Ave. It is a beautiful Catholic Church, with fine examples of marble sculpture, paintings and mosaics. The architecture is very interesting.
