“Beautiful grounds, great variety of animals, good for kids of all ages!”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

The Buffalo Zoo is a fun day for families! The grounds are spotless and there is plenty of shady spots to sit and eat lunch or just take a break. The admission price is totally reasonable for a day of family fun. There is some construction going on because they are building a new polar exhibit which will open August 2015 but as long as you follow the map around the construction, the flow of the zoo is easy to follow. A few highlights include the new baby rhino "Monica" (which is totally adorable), the baby gorilla (also adorable), the new barn yard petting farm exhibit (hands on farming activities along with a very happy mule, giant pig, turkey, sheep and cow), the Wegmans Children's Playground (for children 4' and under - fantastic), the baby polar bears (which are not babies anymore but so entertaining) and the train ride and carousel ($2 per ride). There is also a cute "Dino Dig" dig site where kids can dig for dino bones and learn dino facts. We spent about 4 hours here with our 4 year old son and we enjoyed every minute. All in all, we think the Buffalo Zoo is an excellent family day and will definitely return!

“Great zoo, perfect size for the family, not too big not too small.”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

Great variety of animals to see! We loved it. There was lots of construction going on for an arctic exhibit so if you're handicapped keep that in mind, it did inhibit getting around a little, although still doable even with a walker or wheelchair. Nice gift shop at the end, lots of staff around all over the zoo to answer questions etc.

“Little One's Watching other animal Little One's”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Excited to watch 2 polar bears born in 2012...one was an adopted orphan. The romped and played with each other on land and in a pond. And a baby gorilla about the size of 3 month old infant but walking and grasping its mother"s coat. Unusual reptiles and the usual tiger and lion and zebra and elephant etc. But the sea lions were huge and there was a rain forest of birds and acquatic mammals. Not too big; not too small. Lectures and demos and shows throughout the day plus special indoor and outdoor oasis for the wee ones.

“Great for the kids”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Had some time to kill on our trip before a big dinner and decided to hit the zoo. We loved the exhibits and our daughter fell in love with the bears. I was a little surprised it was so crowded but it is the middle of summer so I don't koww what I was thinking!
