Irish Classical Theatre Company

this is a terrific little theater in downtown buffalo, with a cozy bar and a well-informed audience... no seat in this unique, theater-in-the-square setup is more than 30 feet from the stage... any closer and you'd have to learn lines... the programming is an acquired taste, as what in many ways the Irish consider comedy, others might find tragic... if the presentation includes an actor named Brian Mysliwy, run, do not walk, and try to find a seat...

You can't have a bad seat in this theatre. The rows of seats work in a circle around the room, and the actors perform in the middle. The plays are not typical shows - the ones I've seen there I've never seen performed anywhere else. The cost for quality is possibly the best in the theatre district.

What a great experience seeing a play at the Irish Classical Theatre. You just have to go and see for your self. Nicely done.

Every year we plan on going to at least one performance and we never disappointed. Great small theatre with 3 rows around the perimeter of the stage. You can capture the actors expressions up close and feel as you are part of the setting. We took 2 teenage girls with us this year for their first time and they loved the closeness of it all ... And the Irish accents! Great small bar for before the show or intermission (bottled water, soda, beer, wine).

Buffalo has a rare and beautiful gem of a theatre company--in a beautiful little theater downtown. Check out Irish Classical Theatre's offerings if you are a local or a visitor to the Queen City. Just saw artistic director Vincent O'Neil in "Joyicity." Lovely show; very moving. Bonus--the theatre has a relaxing bar--meet for a drink before the show.
