Owner description: The Elmwood Village, one of America's 10 Best Neighborhoods, as designated by the American Planning Association, and Buffalo/Niagara's most vibrant shopping, dining and cultural district, can be enjoyed year-round. Whether you're already in the neighborhood, elsewhere in Western New York, or visiting from across the border, the Elmwood Village is a wonderful destination.

After spending many years living and working in cities in the deep South, it is refreshing to return to a neighborhood of eclectic shops that is occupied by people not trapped in their automobiles. It is neither a fancy or snooty shopping district, nor an overcrowded NYC-style street, but a comfortable and friendly neighborhood street with an abundance of places to shop, eat, and people watch. It is close to Buffalo State College, Delaware Park, the Albright-Knox, and many more galleries and 19th century architectural wonders. Some cities have similar streets, but Elmwood stretches for miles, and no one section overwhelms any other as it stretches from Allentown north.

This strip is between Bufalo state college and Cansius college. It is an enjoyablle place for all ages to shop and eat...always bustling!

Very lovely area - about a mile or so of nice shops, interesting restaurants - ate in 2 of them which were both good.
Parking was decent during the day - don't know about at night.

lined with quaint locally owned shops full of unique merchandise, some of which is made right here in Buffalo, as well as a variety of eateries and cafes the Elmwood strip is a great place for a summer afternoon stroll. There's a farmers Market at Bidwell Parkway and an upretentious gourmet coffee shop across from it called Cafe Aroma. Next to that is a very accommadating locally owned book store called Talking Leaves. Park the car and walk because driving is a pain with all the foot traffic, and cars pulling in and out of parking lots. Also parking on very busy days can be a little hard to find.
