“Presidential Sites are so interesting”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This site is in the process of being renovated so some artifacts are not on display. But personally, just getting to know a president is so interesting as I have forgotten what I learned in school so long ago. I hadn't remembered that Teddy Roosevelt was such a visionary and progressive and had not remembered why he won a Nobel Prize (do you?) Back in 1901 he was making a stand against Jim Crow..who knew. Also, coming from Chicago and the 1883 Exposition and the "White City", it was fascinating to learn about the 1901 Pan-Am Exposition in Buffalo which was termed the "Rainbow City". Visit if you want to know why Roosevelt and the Exposition are tied in history. If you have a national parks pass, this attraction is free.

“Wish there were more artifacts”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

The tour here is a great overview of the early 1900's era in Buffalo, and specifically of the month of September 1901. The best part is the interactive displays. Our whole family enjoyed these. The downside however is that they are currently undergoing expansion and had to remove some of the artifacts for safekeeping. The pictures they provided of the normal views are good though.

“Enjoyable & Quick Attraction”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

My second visit - but the first was well over ten years ago and I had completly forgotten what it was about. This is a museum that splits the experience between Buffalo's Pan-Am expo of 1901 and the Roosevelt visit to the city at that time to take the oath of President after McKinley died there. There is also a third area upstairs that has rotating exhibits and a interactive oval office for kids of all ages - Best & most fun part - you can have your photo taken and placed in newspaper format for an email to be sent back to you AT NO CHARGE. A must see for the Teddy Roosevelt fan and interesting enough for anyone else. It has an extensive gift shop too.

“Beautiful Home, lots of interactive exhibits”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

Took a tour here on Saturday morning. Guide was very intelligent and gave us a great tour. Began in the Pan-American exhibition room, then went into the home's rooms. Saw the dining room where he met with cabinet members (great sounds playing in the background and smells of fresh coffee were a nice touch) and then went into another theater. Finally went into the library where the swearing-in was held. Then it was upstairs to the interactive exhibits. They were great and very informative. Best was the desk where you could sit, take a picture, and email it to friends/family.

Highly recommended for any history lover.
