“Best of Class in Buffalo”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Albright Knox is a world class Modern Art museum with an interesting history and grand pedigree. Though certainly smaller than larger cities' museums, it features permanent and special collections that rival those of world class cities. Spend an afternoon with your friends and enjoy the wonderful art. I recommend the cafe and gift shop too! Be sure to check out the Burchfield Penney Museum across the street and make a full day of it.

“Great way to spend a summer Sunday”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Each Sunday in July and one or two in August, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery hosts a free, outdoor jazz concert. If you like jazz, or even if you don't, it's a wonderful way to relax on a warm summer afternoon and listen to some great music. The crowds are relaxed, easy going and friendly. The gallery itself is world class and is unbeatable. Albright-Knox is another jewel nestled in Buffalo.

“A gem”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Although I strongly disapproved of the Albright-Knox's sale of pre-modern holdings some years ago, I think the gallery remains wonderfully vital and interesting. I hope that in the future it will reverse its policy of exclusive commitment ot modern and contemporary and begin collecting works before 1870 once more. A city of Buffalo's size deserves a comprehensive Museum of Art, and the Albright is practically the only show in town capable of being this. Meanwhile, its modern collection--especially the core collection assembled and donated by Seymour Knox III-- remains absolutely indispensible. One other reservation: The gallery's education program could stand some improvement.

“Awesome collection”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

One of the best collections of modern art in the world, the overall collection is very eclectic with seasonal features. The permanent collection is a must see.
