Sunset yoga paddleboarding, paddle boat rentals, live music, a sunset over the lake. Canalside Park was a beautiful place to spend an evening with our family.

Buffalo has turned the corner! Canalside is a great place to spend the day! There is so much to see and do! There are many family friendly activities. The water view is awesome. Walking your dog is allowed. Many places to sit and relax and "people watch."
Locals should use the Metro subway. We parked at Lasale Station and rode to Canalside. No headache of traffic and parking.

Very informative for what we could hear. Moderators voices were drowned out frequently by the loud boat engines.

Wow, Buffalo really designed a great space for families and tourists to gather! Stroll along the boardwalk, sit in one of the many Adirondack chairs and relax, play in the sand, visit the Military museum, catch a boat tour or rent paddleboards, etc., eat ice cream....and in winter you can ice skate. There were even air conditioned restrooms. We saw many Security personnel around wearing bright yellow shirts.
There's a seafood restaurant called Liberty Hound with an outdoor patio, but we didn't try it. Highly rated here on TripAdvisor.
After all the walking we did, it was very nice to ride the FREE train back to within a couple blocks of our hotel. Only a 10 minute wait, and saved us lots of steps.

There is much to do for the entire family, from paddle boating to ferry rides, to biking. The ambiance screams family friendly. We really enjoyed it.
