From Spring to Fall there is always something going on . . . concerts, shows, festivals, you name it. Several concert series are on tap throughout the Summer. There is the original terminus for the Erie Barge Canal along with a museum. Located on the river, you can stroll along the wide walkways and see tall ships, naval vessels and lots of pleasure boaters just passing by. Lots of construction going on at the foot of downtown right now and many new attractions are on the way. Stop by and see for yourself.

Went down on Wednesday went on a wine tasting tour on the tall ship think it was the spirit of buffalo had a great time crew friendly ,at sunset we went out into the lake and great view. Spent lazy fourth down by the harbor sitting in the comfortable chairs provided. Fireworks were highlight of day!

The Buffalo Waterfront has come a long way over the past few years - it's exciting to see that many people in the area have a desire to see it grow even more!

The city doesn't have the kind of money Toronto does to put into public works, so you won't find endless strips of shops and restaurants. However, there is a lot still to be appreciated, especially if you are from or have ever lived in WNY.

Beautiful new condomimum communities sit just a walk away from the mouth of the harbor, where you will find amatuer boating, flower gardens and wooden sculptures made from trees that fell during the October Storm. Further down is the recenlty grown Naval and Military Park with a new musuem dedicated to many branches of service, including the Marine Corps. Here you will also find a restaurant and a newly built waterbridge leading over to the Wharf walkway with some interesting things to do. There are a collection of outdoor games for anyone to grab and play with, kayaks for rent, and giant sandbox for kids to play in, an outdoor movie theatre & multicolor adirondack chairs scattered about for anyone to use.

It's no Balitmore or San Francisco waterfront to be sure, but it's sad to hear others knocking back down a city that has been trying to pull itself back up the bootstraps for decades. I would recommend it to anyone who has an appreciation for history, culture and the more simple side of things...and not overly spoiled by the wealthy infrastructure enjoyed by other cities.

Over all the area is quiet pretty, its a bit of a nightmare to get around with all the construction right now, but it is very pretty. Along the inner wharf where some of the Thursday concerts are held, is a cute little park that has vendors and play areas for the kids. The concert area boost out good sound and has sitting areas for those who don't want to be in the crowd but want to hear the show. Navel ship and museum is just off the area and is a pretty sight all on its own. The family hopes to come back again for a picnic.

If you come to the waterfront expecting a beautiful waterfront like you see in other cities, don't bother coming.

There's hardly anything to do (we even went when there was a festival) and there are no good views.

The entire waterfront has industrial buildings in front of it and the water is a disgusting dark brown/green colour. From the Naval & Military Park, you can actually look out into the lake and see where the brownish-green water turns into a normal blue colour.
