“Very solid choice, great for families”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

This is our second stay at the Buffalo Embassy Suites and altogether we have stayed 7 nights so we have a pretty good feel for the place. With a family of four we love the large rooms, two queen beds and the queen pullout couch. The hotel is fairly new and very well maintained. We asked for extra towels and pillows and they were brought up within 5 minutes. The location is great if you are doing things downtown or as everything in Buffalo and their suburbs is relatively close you are pretty much within 30 minutes of most everything. One highlight and money saver is the free breakfast which is very good, particularly the made to order omelet station. The gym is not huge, but not small and has enough equipment for most people to get in a good workout. Next to the gym is an indoor pool which is smaller than the one next door at the Hampton Inn and we saw parents with young kids using it, but it is not very big. If you're driving a car then you do have to valet it ( the Hampton Inn has a free parking lot for their guests) and it is $15 per day. The valet staff was always quick to bring the car around, usually no more than 5 minutes and when we remembered to call ahead it was always there waiting for us. We got a great rate ( pre-paid) on Hotels.com and overall were very pleased with our stay. We have also stayed at a suite at the Hampton Inn next door and in my opinion the two hotels are very similar, if you can get a suite at the Hampton Inn.

Strongly recommend this hotel. Friendly and pleasant staff, clean rooms and the suite set up is so lovely when traveling with children. Walk from here to Betty's (0.6 mi) for a great dinner and lovely walk in Buffalo.

We were 3 people in one of their suites. The second room was tiny. Once the couch was opened it was impossible to get by it (if 2 people opened it one had to crawl over it to get out.
There was no pillow or blanket for the popout and we waited for 40 minutes (at midnight) for them to deliver them...and it took 2 calls to the desk. The next evening we went to the lobby and asked for some wine glasses...and were told to wait in a long line of people waiting for free drinks (actually that was a nice thing if you wanted it). After a bit of a wait (still many people in front of us in line) we were given the glasses....but they were filthy.
The breakfast was very good and the staff in that area was great. However, the sign for breakfast said 6:30 to (I forget what) but when we came down at 6:30 the next morning (catching an early flight) they did not even have coffee.

That's our second stay in this hotel. As we approached the front desk, I greeted the person behind the desk. He (supervisor) ignored me and talked with a staff down the hall and talked something in his radio about a garbage can. After a while he asked what we wanted. No greeting. I just wanted a room and not deal with the front desk anymore. Some of the basic rules of hospitality are missing in this hotel. In contrast, the housekeeping staff was very friendly. The rooms are great, with a great view. Some basic things did not work, what surprised me for an Embassy Suites. The tissues were missing in the bathroom and the coffee maker in the room is a joke. If you eat breakfast, make sure that you check the plates. A lot of the plates are dirty.

Room Tip: Make sure to take a corner suite on a higher floor. Great view.

The hotel looks new and the room is spacious. Breakfast is included and it is good quality. The staff are very friendly. The valet parking seems to be understaffed and it sometimes took a while to get the car. Overall I like this hotel best among the 3 hotels in the vicinity.

Had a horrible experience at the Adams mark and was able to book this hotel at 1:00 AM Saturday morning. A lot of the roads were closed because of the taste of buffalo making it a little difficult to navigate tot he hotel. But there were ample signs posted to direct us to the embassy. Valet was still available at 2 am and there was an armed hotel security person in the front lobby. Unless this was a guest. Not sure and didn't inquire. I was exhausted and just wanted to get to the room.

The man working the front desk checked us in quickly and with a smile despite the obvious stress of buffalo at 2 am during one of the cities busiest weekend festivals.

One great feature of this hotel is elevators require a key card swipe before pushing the floor button. cuts down on people roaming around the hotel, and kept the room quiet.

The room was immaculate with lots of space. would definitely stay again. showers were nice and hot. Wish they weren't booked for Saturday night.

We recently had to fly to Buffalo, NY for a funeral. Needless to say, it was a stressful weekend and the "Taste of Buffalo" festival made it very challenging to get to our hotel. Fortunately, we were greeted with a warm welcome and
there was a beautiful view of the lake from our 8th floor foyer. We also enjoyed the size of our suite and the floor to ceiling windows! When we returned from the wake, the manager's reception had just ended; however, Barbara, the lovely hostess/facilitator offered to give us a drink. She even suggested that we take our drinks to the bar so we would not be bothered with the clean-up operation in progress. The ambience and food in the restaurant were wonderful and our waitress, Caitlin, was charming and professional. The valet staff was exceptional and everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. This truly made us feel "taken care of" and made a huge difference in how this trip turned out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the lake, if possible. Otherwise, the king suite was fabulous!
