“Excellent customer service and food!”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We saw Papa Jakes on Groupon and decided to purchase the deal since we had not been there before. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks and food. The bartender was very helpful and friendly.Throughout our visit, he checked on us the perfect amount without being overbearing or not checking on us enough. I ordered the beef on weck and my friend had the rodeo burger. We both were very impressed. The meat was cooked well and very flavorful.

“Corner urban bar with good food”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

Great seafood, well-like Friday fish fry. Everything of good quality. Parking tough at times.

“Good food”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Went to papa Jake's with friends for a late dinner on a Wednesday night. We sat on patio which was noisy but comfortable. I got the highly recommended meatloaf sandwich and could not have been happier. It was delicious. Ate some of my friends fries which were also good. My husband had a steak sandwich which was good, not as good as the meatloaf or scallops our friend ordered. I'm definitely going back for more.

“It is all good!”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

We went to the restaurant with a group of four and tried several different entrees - meatloaf sandwich, fried bologna sandwich, fish fry. We also ordered a full basket of fries to share. Everything was fantastic. The slice of meatloaf was incredibly thick, juicy, and filled with delicious pieces of onion. The friend bologna sandwich included a thick and juicy layer of cheese the tied the fried onion to the meat. And, the beer batter coating on the fish fry was light and crispy. The home cut, hand cut fries were among the best I have ever had. Check this place out.

“Best Fish Fry in Buffalo”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

We spent alot of time looking for a good fish fry and thought we had a place then we stopped at Papa Jake's. Don't be fooled by the outside the food inside is amazing. There aren't very many tables on the inside but it is well worth the wait. The fish fry is the best in Buffalo. We have the breaded fish and when it comes out it is very hot. By the time you are finished the fish is still warm and crispy, not like beer battered fish at a lot of places which becomes soggy. The french fries are the best. You can never beat a good fresh cut fry - frozen can't even begin to compete. The only thing to remember is that the fish is only available on Friday's so don't miss out.
