We really had a good time at the Medora Musical. I thought it was a bit overpriced but we did manage to learn a little about the history of Medora and North Dakota in the midst of a hokey musical! :)

My friends and I decided to check out the Medora Musical after the Pitchfork BBQ (by the way, YUM). What a fun show! The singers and dancers were great, and the hosts were fun. Lots of songs you'd recognize (even if you don't follow country music too closely - lots of oldies but goodies). It was a great way to spend the evening, especially since it's right down the road from the BBQ and the timing is set up perfectly for you to attend both. One of the best ways to spend an evening in Medora!

We went to the musical on a friend's recommendation, expecting it to be a little unprofessional. We were pleasantly surprised with the amphetheatre and the musical itself. The sets were well done, the setting beautiful and the talent very good. The Pitchfork Fondue would have probably been good except it poured rain while eating and it was rather cramped because all the people were trying to fit underneath the canopy. I would spring for the steak as the briquette and ribs were very dry. All in all I would recommend it as an evening's outing.

Don't think that a place like Medora can't put out top quality entertainment. The singers, staging, and lighting are equal to what you might see in a much larger area. The use of the hills behind the stage was dramatic and would be difficult to duplicate elsewhere. Although outdoors, there were no bugs and a slight rain didn't disrupt the performance or our enjoyment.

The musical never disappoints. We go every year and see the musical. Take in the Pitch Fork Fondue while your there. It is so fun. the town of medora is full of unique shops and set totally in the old west. You will feel you have stepped back to the rugged frontier and are a settler yourself. Accomedations are up to date and wonderfyl-so no roughing it. Experience a time from long ago-get a feel of what the rugged frontier wa like and learn of the people that made their home in the plains of North Dakota.
