We had a delicious, reasonable meal in a clean, hospitable atmosphere AND we got excellent personalized advice for the next leg of our trip from an owner who clearly loves and knows the West. So glad we stopped in!

Yes, it'll be crowded if you go when everyone else does: Medora's a small place, and the hoards all get hungry at 8, 12 and 5. If you're savvy, you'll set your alarm and go for a nice hike early, then reward yourself with a big breakfast and lots of personal attention at 10 or so.

If upscale ambiance is your taste - DO NOT go to the Cowboy Café!! However, if you want good down-home AMERICAN food - breakfast - lunch - and dinner, go where the locals go - the Cowboy Café!

Be prepared for a small town atmosphere of a local restaurant. If you have not experienced such a thing just wait for a table and enjoy the conversations. Food is very traditional ND options. Breakfast is always busy but staff is always friendly and tries to keep people happy and taken care of. No credit cards here so bring cash. My recommendation is the caramel roll and a side of bacon. If you do not like your bacon well done let them know when you order, or it will come back super crispy.

Its an older place, very very small. There's a line for breakfast (due to the small size). Friendly, helpful staff, average food. However they do offer a wonderful LOW CARB breakfast.

We had lunch here and the food was excellent! I had the Reuben and I must say it was the best one I ever had. Now, that's a lot coming from a former New Yorker!
