Very nice hotel! We stayed one night in the historic section. Room was clean & decorated nicely. Hotel staff was friendly & helpful. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel restaurant is also very good. Thumbs Up!

When making our reservation I had a great deal of trepidation about this property. But, given the choices available in Medora I hesitantly made the reservation. When we arrived at the hotel and drove into the parking lot I was REALLY not sure about the decision to stay there. The outside of the hotel has been preserved as it was when TR stayed there. But upon entering the lobby I was immediately placed at ease. The lobby library and guest services desk were beautiful. Upon entering our room we were again pleasantly surprised by another visitor, staying in our room with us. His name is Theodore J. Bear and he is now our traveling bear. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The price was a little more than I'm used to paying, but well worth it. If I'm ever in the area I definitely be returning to the Rough Rider.

Room Tip: Ask for a new room

We had stayed in Medora last in 2008. Holy Moly has this hotel changed in that time! It is a 5 start hotel now. LOVED IT. Our room was beautiful, and the stand up shower is beyond awesome! I could not get over the transformation of the hotel since we had last seen it. Yet they kept the old west feel to it. Details like the lamp pulls being made into trigger pulls were so great. We had booked the package with the hotel, Pitchfork Fondue and Medora Musical in one - and it's a great deal. Highly recommend it.

We stayed for just one night, July 20, 2014 and had a "historical" room...Very comfortable king sized bed...wonderful bath...shower was awesome! Clean, quiet...the A/C worked great as it was into the 90's. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a historical room, ask for a street side room if you want more "light" the back ro...

This hotel offers excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a very good restaurant. The decor in the lobby and throughput the hotel is very pristine reflecting the Roosevelt era. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and accommodating.

We stayed in a suite that Teddy stayed in. The room was great. The only drawback is e were on the second floor and there is no one to help with the luggage. Perfectly located to visit the National Park.

Room Tip: careful if you need luggage help
