Well worth the time spent. A look at how the aristocracy lived in the long gone past. Nothing spectacular but that is on of the things that makes the site interesting. Not what you expect.

What a "hunting lodge". Amazing to see what those who had money were able to do in the 1880's. The lodge is nicely furnished with original period pieces. Narrators of the historical society are on hand for questions and brief descriptions of the many rooms. Worth the admittance fee.

We went to the building to buy tickets to Chateau de Mores and saw the short movie and the display. It really gives you an idea of what the area was like when the Marquis came in 1883 to start a cattle business and ship those cows East. I especially liked that their 26 room house still has 90% of the original furniture (even down to the wine bottles and wastepaper baskets!) This is because the de Mores family always thought they were going to return. Very interesting tour, and I would say, worth the $7 entry fee.

It is wonderful to see how the de Moreses lived while they were in the Badlands and fun to think about what it was like to be a visitor to their place in the time. The house is beautiful, the views spectacular and the guides knowledgable. The visitor's center gives a lot of good background and it's helpful to go through it before heading up to the house.
