After a long day of driving down from the Grand Canyon through a treachorous snow storm, we relaxed for the night at Little America. The expansive grounds were lovely, decorated for the holidays. The interiors had been recently refurbished but kept the charm of the original architecture. The rooms were enormous and immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would love to return in the summer to take advantage of the hiking trails, swimming pool, and volleyball court. A great stop to include in your cross country travel as the property is just off I40.

We have stayed at the Little America in Flagstaff twice -- once during summer and once during the Christmas holidays of 2006. We love the huge, comfortable rooms and the overall "feel" of this hotel. It is in a good location in Flagstaff -- far away from the train and it's whistle! It is on very large and beautiful grounds, and there is a nice walking trail through the woods for hotel guests to use. The rooms are "suite" size, including both a bedroom area and a large sitting area with couch and two chairs, coffee table, etc. The baths are also very large, and there is a separate vanity area inside the room as well. The decor is a little old-fashioned -- French provencal -- but very nice and well cared for. There is a new, large flat screen TV mounted in front of the bed -- very nice addition. There is a laundry facility on the premises for guests -- so you can wash and dry your clothes while you are here. Here are the only downsides: if you are on the second floor, you have to carry your luggage upstairs -- we didn't find an elevator. So, if you are handicapped in any way, check with the hotel for an appropriate room location. The other downside is the food -- don't eat here. The restaurants have no ambience and the food is really terrible. No kidding -- terrible. But there are plenty of restaurants nearby -- including most of the chains where you'll know exactly what you are getting. I'll stay here again while in Flagstaff -- but I won't eat here.

I have stayed at Little America numerous times over the past several years and loved it everytime......even during the renovation, the old rooms were still very comfortable. Room size is wonderful.....large, dressing area outside the bath area. Very large bathrooms. Staff is always knowledgeable and pleasant. Love to check into the wonderful room at the end of a day, head to the lounge which is large and has wonderful views of the gorgeous grounds, also a large fireplace. Usually get the bar menu and eat there as well. A huge fireplace is so welcoming in the winter as one enters the hotel. The gift shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. Christmas decorations are super. Have stayed other places a couple of times and wonder why.

^ Very nice room - large, quiet, clean, comfortable. Ventilation system worked well. Friends who saw our room commented that we were fortunate to have one of the renovated rooms as their's was 1970's vintage.

v We were there for a conference as well as a vacation, so experienced a variety of food service situations from buffets to sit-down lunches and dinners. Some of it was done quite nicely - food was tasty and attractive. Inconsistency was a big problem - while I quite enjoyed one prime rib dinner in particular, pre-portioned salads were long past their prime; much of the meat was considerably over-cooked to the point of being dried-out; and some portions of prime rib were more fat than meat. Conversely, we had a lovely buffet lunch which included excellent roast lamb. Breakfasts were "ok".

v The meeting facilities looked good. Noise from adjacent rooms was tolerable. They get very low marks for the quality of their sound system. In two days of meetings we didn't have two hours of reliable performance.

^ Parking is plentiful. Handicapped access is good, provided that you are on the ground level. No elevators.

- The hotel is too far from the city centre to be considered walking distance to the shops. Access to the highways is excellent.

^ Exercise facilities looked good, although I can't claim to have used them.

^ Some of the staff were excellent. None were problematic.

Stayed for one night on an escorted tour. Wonderful room, very large, ground floor and clean. A very long walk to the main lobby and eating areas. Used the Restaraunt for evening meal, which was of mediocre quality and very slow service. My wife became very sick overnight, possible food poisoning, and we declined breakfast.

Fellow travellers who went to breakfast were delayed in joining the tour 'bus by very slow and inefficient service. Staff were seen to be in tears over the problems.

This could be a wonderful hotel with better managment and improved catering.

The hotel was great, well maintained, furnishing very nice. The room was spacious, and the furnishings were modern and room decor was very nice. We just loved it. The property is so peaceful, scenic with the flowers and nice walkways. There is also a inside walk-way to reach all the lodges. The staff was the best, when we checked in they were very accommadating, we arrived early and was able to check in. We were given directions to where we wanted to sight-see with a map. Recommendations about eating on the facilities and in Flagstaff. We ate on site in their lovely restaurant and had a lovely 6 course diner at reasonable prices, service and food was superb. We missed a great lunch buffet served between 11-2 , and their Sunday Brunch, but next time we will have lunch and brunch. When we were checking out we locked our keys in the car, the front desk staff and the Concierge went above the call of duty, they offered assistence every 10-15 minutes until our car was fixed in 30-45 min. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.
