“Comfortable Hotel - Breakfast Sucks”
Reviewed June 23, 2006

We spent 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much, except for the buffet breakfast. Cold and bland food with a small selection. There are plenty of nearby options for breakfast so skip the hotel meal.

The beds had an adjustable knob to set the bed to your own level of comfort. The staff was friendly and the location is very good.

We will stay here again for sure.

Bad experience!! Bed was hard as a Rock. Had a dangerous issue with the Hair dryer in Bathroom. It malfunctioned sparking and smoking, unit failed to trip protective circuit and would not shut down until unit literally melted. Hotel staff would not comp room. Went across the Street to the Hampton Inn and had a very pleasurable experience.

This is what a three-star hotel is supposed to be. At larger hotels, a few suites raise building’s overall rating, fooling people like me into staying in two-star rooms. Not at the Hilton. There is no pretense of being a four-star hotel, but they did everything necessary to make it a comfortable three-star experience. Great service, quit pool area, nice décor, darkening windows, and effective decorations. I prefer four-star beds and sheets, but these were comfortable and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again. It’s the best value and most consistent experience I’ve had in Flagstaff.

Decided to treat ourselves to an early evening stop on our way to Phoenix from Chicago, so at the end of day two we got a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Flagstaff. While the pictures on the site seem accurate, and the furnishing are as represented, things just seemed a little off. The reception area is open and inviting, and the staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful, but it was a combination of little things that will have me checking out other hotels in the area the next time I pass through. There were numerous things missing from our room which revealed themselves as the evening wore on, as well as carpeting that seemed dirty, splotchy and even slightly damp in several areas like it had been recently cleaned but not too well. At the end of the day the linens felt tired and worn when we finally climbed into bed. Nothing terrible, but as I said before, just not right, so when it comes to Flagstaff I will keep looking. - PSNL

We spent a week in AZ seeing the sights, stopping somewhere different every night. It was a nice place and the desk clerk was very welcoming and personable, but for the price (we paid $135) it wasn't worth it. Rooms were clean and spacious enough, but the less-expensive Hamptons we stayed in were actually nicer plus they offered free breakfast whereas the Hilton Garden Inn did not. It's located on a very busy corner and our room was quite noisy from the traffic. There were all of the other 'usual' chains in the same area (Fairfield Inn, Hampton, etc.) and next time I'd opt for one of those. Nothing terrible about this place, we just didn't feel it was worth the extra $40-$50 compared to other places we stayed.

This small Hilton is convenient to central Flagstaff and the university, and surrounded by a good variety of restaurants. Although located on the main drag in Flagstaff, our room was well protected from outside noise. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel has a business center that provided free internet access, and the front desk puts out cookies in the afternoon--a nice touch. Our room was very clean and had both a mini-fridge and a microwave. The only complaint was some interior noise from other rooms, such as phones ringing and toilets flushing. Otherwise, it was a very good value, and I would certainly stay there again.

Wonderful hotel with a great room. Two excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. We were very lucky to find this value. We picked up one of those throw away magazines at a restaurant and just happened to look though it on our way into Flagstaff. Saw a coupon for $69.00.
