Snotty kids at the front desk, maintenance people selling drugs in the parking lot and a manager who doesnt care. It is the worst hotel on earth.

Stayed two nights in the La Quinta in Flagstaff AZ. Nicely located between Sedona and the Gran Canyon. Clean and nice hotel. People at counter were very friendly. Nice (and free) breakfast. Excellent for simple and low-fare hotel stays and if you do not expect too much luxury. Room was clean, beds slept a little ucomfortable. Nicely located 1 mile North of the end of HW 17, so was easy to find. Will stay again if we plan trip in AZ.

We stayed at La Quinta for two nights on route to The Grand Canyon.

Generally the hotel was nice, good size and pleasant room with fridge, micro and coffee. Quiet. Good Breakfast. Lovely pool.

I unfortunately have to say that some of the staff were not very friendly with the exception of course of some nice ones. We were certainly not made to feel welcome by some.

We have just got back from a three week tour of California. Arizona and Navada and out of all of the hotels (12 hotels) we stayed in this one stood out as being the unfriendliest.
To end on a positive note the hotel is in a handy position for shops and restaurants. There is a great Walmart just next door.

Stayed here one night to be close to the Grand Canyon. They take pets, and have an outdoor pool which was heated and open. It's within walking distance of a Kohl's department store. The room was nice - standard LaQuinta - but the beds were perhaps a little hard. Had a little noise from the room next door, but not too bad. The waffle-makers did not quite cook the waffles enough - would recommend putting them through two cycles. Friendly staff, nice part of town. Never heard a train. The Casa Bonita Mexican Restaurant on the main drag is pretty good - fast and inexpensive.

My husband, 5 yr old daughter and I drove up to Flagstaff on Friday March 31st with plans to stay the night and go play in the snow the next day. We got to LaQuinta around 9:30pm. We booked through Priceline and only paid $70. which was almost 1/2 of what others who booked that night had to pay (135.). WE did get a smoking room because of Priceline, but we couldn't really tell it was a smoking room except for when we FIRST walked in it faintly smelled like someone had smoked there. No biggie, it was worth saving $65.! WE did have a room with two double beds, which was also fine and just had one shampoo/ conditioner in one and a bath soap and one facial soap. No lotion, q-tips, mouth wash, etc... like other places will offer. They did have a sign in the bathroom that said you could request these items at the front desk and they were complimentary. My husband did get two mini hand lotions. They do not have evening maids to deliver these items. Obviously this is not a fancy, full service place, you need to go to a fancy hotel for that! But the room was clean and pretty roomy and set up well. The beds were okay, did not seem to be a pillowtop and had a blanket with bedspread, not a comforter. I guess I have been spoiled by my stays at fancy hotels I got through Priceline! Also, I did see people walking dogs on grassy areas, and, from what I understand, pets are allowed if they behave.
What I have noticed with a mid-price hotel like this is that they will usually offer the movies, video games and complimentary items that you forgot like lotion, toothbrush, etc... plus a Continental breakfast.
La quinta had a really good breakfast that you get right in the lobby. They had a variety of cold cereals, hot cereals, english muffins, toast, make-your-own-waffle table (which was awesome) and a warmer with eggs and bacon. For drinks they had coffee, teas, hot chocolate, apple or orange juice, milk and iced tea. I was impressed. I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency with a fancy room and was offered 1/2 off of their expensive breakfast buffet. I guess you have to decide if your priority is a fancy room and no free breakfast or a decent, clean room and a great free breakfast!! This hotel was perfect for our short stay. The room was clean and had things we needed (or available on request) without the frills you pay for at a fancy hotel, plus a free breakfast. We will stay at LaQuinta in Flagstaff again!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The bed was the most comfortable and so were the pillows! The bathroom was nice. The room overall was a nice layout. The breakfast was fantastic. I love having waffles and cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit. Wonderful stay.

We stayed in the Flagstaff La Quinta Inn & Suites for two nights in mid-January 2006. We were very impressed with the hotel and our stay all the way around. Everything about this place was great: quality, location, and price. Its definitely one of the La Quinta "Suites" - several floors and all of the rooms open to an indoor hallway. Easily best of our Arizona hotels this trip, and coincidentally the cheapest too.

The price was AAA rate of $163 total for three adults for two nights. The beds were quite comfortable and the room was spacious with a large desk. Bathroom and shower were great (lots of hot water in cold Flagstaff) and large, fluffy towels replaced each day. The room had a coffee maker, hair dryer, and high speed wireless internet. Breakfast was served each morning from 7-10 and included danish, toast, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and juice. The hotel had a great exercise room with several machines, and a very nice outdoor pool (which obviously we didn't make use of being January and all). Management was very friendly, and you could tell this particular hotel manager was going out of her way to run a successful business, down to the detailed list of customer satisfactions she placed in the room.

The reviewer below was obviously expecting something 5-star or something, but you're just not gonna find that in Flagstaff.

This was really a pleasant surprise all the way around. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip through northern Arizona.

P.S. if you spend a day or two in Flagstaff, make sure to check out all the National Parks/Monuments nearby: Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, Wupatki, and of course the Grand Canyon. All worth a visit and all within an hour or so drive. Also, Sedona is only an hour away.
