“Lovely hotel”

Lovely rooms staff very friendly & helpful. Well situated, we were on a Titan tour holiday so one stayed one night but I would recommend anyone to visit if they are in this area. We visited Scottsdale, Bell Rock that was lovely to see the red rock. Many western films use this area as its so pretty a back drop. We also went to see Sedona, Old Creek Canyon. The geological wonder 227 miles long, 18 miles wide and one mile deep a huge. Amount of silvery Colorado River below.

I have always enjoyed the "feel" of the Woodlands - set back from the road; landscaping; comfortable lobby and the bar area. It is somewhat retro, but relaxing and enjoyable.

It was exciting to learn of the many changes that are taking place. The new bedding is an excellent up-grade (those number mattresses were never anything enjoyable); new furniture up-grades to the rooms will be a welcome change (a better desk/chair combination; multiple desk electrical outlets)

The quality of the food in the restaurant seems to have improved; clearly there is more variety on the menu. If you want my rating to go from four stars to five those points will come from your restaurant and bar.

I look forward to enjoying the result of your efforts.

The hotel is descent, but from the moment we walked in the room we were disappointed! The room is small and the decor furniture dated, poor lighting, loud erratic noise coming from the a/c and the most obvious was the size of the beds! It became very real when we went to bed, tossed and turned all night due to the bed being a double and not a queen. We could not get comfy being sardined on the double. We have a 13 yr old and 15 yr old who were cramped on the other double as well. We had just slept on a queen the night before at a different hotel in another city and the difference between a double and a queen makes a BIG difference. So sad, after reading all the poor reviews! Never again!

On behalf of our entire team, we'd like to apologize that you didn't fully enjoy your recent stay with us. We do read and take very seriously all comments and reviews, whether positive or constructive. A few notes of interest -- though we've just replaced all of the beds in the hotel with the new Serta Sweet Dreams beds in preparation for our conversion to DoubleTree by Hilton - we do realize there is more work to be done in the guestrooms to get them up to date. We've been listening to our guests and we'll be starting on full room renovation very soon. Our 'sample' rooms are just being completed now. In regards to the beds, we have 2 bed sizes in the hotel currently. A King Bed - found both in our parlor suites and King bedded guestrooms; and Queen-sized beds, found in our double (2) Queen rooms. We do not have double or full sized beds (though we understand moving from King bed to a Queen bed does make the queen-size feel small. We hope that this clears a few things up and do hope you'll give us another chance to serve you in the future. Thank you for leaving your review and allowing us to learn and respond to your concerns.

My 10 year old and I stayed one night at this 3.5 star hotel. It felt like a 4 star hotel. For the $73 Priceline rate, we were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a King suite. The rate included complimentary parking and wireless. The location was awesome and the hotel itself was great. Check-in staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The only negative thing is the noise. In room 434, we could hear the showers running next door and there is a constant clicking sound (maybe from HVAC?). These were minor considering the price.

I must say, what a disappointment. We used a second party to book the room over a month ago! Reserving a room for four. When we arrived after a very long day, we were told we had one bed, cause they could not guarantee two beds, cause we used a second party to book. We could either have a roll away, or upgrade to a suite with a pull out for 30 bucks more. We choose to upgrade. Now traveling with 3 60 year olds and one 86 years old. It was, by choice to put the elder in the nice king bed, and two other used the horrible pull out. It was just as you would guess. Three inches of worn springs with rods in your back! The front desk said oh never use a second party to book. I also felt that because we did , we were put in the worst room available. Room 401 , way in the back, next to major construction , we had to maneuver through boxes and construction trash with the workers using the hallway for overflow. The room walls are paper thin, and lots of chaos. I certainly would have choose a different hotel in the area . There are a lot more choices.

Room Tip: My tip is to bypass this hotel.

We do everything in our power to accommodate our guests' requests and I am sorry that we were unable to accommodate your request for a room with 2 beds.

It is a very exciting time for us at the Woodlands Hotel as we are in the process of making upgrades and enhancements to our property. I will follow up with our team to make sure that items are not left in the hallway. Moving forward with future enhancements and upgrades we will be closing the section in which we are making improvements in order to minimize guest impact. We have stayed here many times over the last 6 years. It's our go to hotel in Flagstaff. They have changed management and I was hoping for an amazing stay, but was terribly disappointed. My daughter is deathly allergic to lemons and all their toiletry products including the soap are lemon based. We called the front desk and asked if they had fragrance free products or any alternative for us. They informed me that they didn't and I should go to the Safeway down the street and buy some. Really?! I know that lemon allergies aren't common, but really? It would have taken them minutes to go buy a bar of soap for $1 and send it to my room and I would have been overjoyed with their service. Instead I'm left with doubts about the new management and their ability to provide good customer service.

The hotel is undergoing some renovations and the workout room and indoor hottub are a problem. We sat in the hottub for about half an hour. There was poor air circulation and the room wreaked of chlorine and actually began burning our eyes and throats.

The door to our room (229) had obviously been crowbarred and was difficult to open and close. I think changing out the doors should be a priority in maintenance. There were no screens on the window and that made it impossible to leave the window open to enjoy the crisp clear air of Flagstaff.

The room was very clean, beds comfy, nice TV, and a good size. Request a room on the third floor as the views are much nicer from on top.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 3rd floor!

We appreciate your feedback and letting us know where we fell short in meeting your expectations. We are in a transition period however that is not an excuse for the service failures you and your daughter experienced and for that we apologize. I will review these comments with our team and let them know that they are empowered to better service our guests.

In regards to your comments about the indoor Jacuzzi, I have my maintenance team looking into this issue and see what may have caused this and make sure that this has been fixed. I will also look into the screen for the window in your guest room mentioned. We will make sure a new one gets installed ASAP.

As a repeat guest to The Flagstaff Woodlands Hotel, we value your opinion, and I am confident that the upgrades and improvements not only with the building but with the improvements in training our staff we will earn your trust and business for future visits.

The Hotel is in the process of contacting this guest to gather additional information and to resolve to their satisfaction.

Start with the staff, especially Lauren Weaver at the front desk, but every one, Rosie, Brent, Sam, they are all professional, competent and friendly. Lauren referred us to the Lumberyard Brewery for dinner and it rocked. 15 of us had a great time, excellent beers on tap.
We are having a small business conference of around 75 people using their facilities and everything from A to Z has come off without a hitch. A great place for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Lauren and Rosie at the front desk have great local knowledge and an steer you in the right directio...
