Quality Inn I-40 & I-17
Ranked #50 of 66 Hotels in Flagstaff
Reviewed June 4, 2008

Just returned from a two night stay at this facility. It was a little difficult to locate although it is on the main street through Flagstaff. The entrances are through one of two service station/mini-marts. There were no problems checking in and all conditions/prices were per the prearranged reservation. Check-in staff were cordial and helpful. Lobby area is quite nice. There is a computer/printer with Internet access available at no charge located in the lobby. The room was actually quite adequate although you will not find anything fancy. Where the room really fell short was in the bedding. Although there are numerous pillows on the bed(s), they are quite small. It was difficult (at least for me) to find a comfortable position with them. Also, the comforter on the bed utilizes some material that is quite noisy when moved. If you adjust your position in bed it sounds as if you are unwrapping a Christmas present. There were other minor irritations with the room, but in comparison to the decent rental rate, they are not worth mentioning. Now for the real negatives - first, they advertise as "no train noise". I don't think there is anywhere in Flagstaff where you can avoid the nightly noise of the train(s). This is no exception. While you do not hear the train itself, you will definitely hear the whistle. As advertised, they allow pets. Be prepared for dogs barking in the middle of the night and outside your window. Hallway noise (banging doors, visiting guests and jerks) is about par for any motel - not good. I would go back but only because of what you get for the rate and because of proximity to the university.

This hotel is everything a hotel should be - clean, warm, modern with good facilities.

It's a bit tricky to find, located behind a petrol station, and it's impossible to get a straight answer from reception as to what a room will cost. After much negotiation, and being offered different
rates for first and ground floor rooms we were offered a first floor room with a view of the mountains.

Room was spacious, and had wireless Internet connection.

Buffet breakfast next day was fab - loads of choice - both healthy and not so healthy options on offer.

We ended up returning to this hotel for a second night, and had to go through the whole rigmarole of negotiating a walk in rate again - tiring but worth it.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. my husband and I probably slept a total of 2 hours.

it was clear that alot of people used the hotel to have parties... and the management seemed fine with it.

there were drunk people playing loud music until 2 or 3am. there were people running through the halls slamming doors *all night*. there were people in the halls having long cell phone conversations. all of which would have been ok if your room was insulated from the noise at all.

the management seemed not to care at all. I wrote to them to complain and all they said was that they were working to rectify the situation. they didn't offer to refund my money. pathetic.

if you want to actually sleep when you are staying at a hotel, do not stay here.

we had originally planned on staying in williams but ended up in Flagstaff. We booked by just walking in and asking for a room. The desk clerk was very friendly and gave us a good price.
The room was the normal motel type room perfectly good enough. There was a free continental breakfast which was nice and enough choice. You could also take it to your room if you preferred. Parking was free and easy to walk to the room.

Booked at the last minute with a coupon. Was surprised it was so quiet in the rooms. Very clean,no odors. Decent breakfast. Everything was as it should be. Nice friendly staff. Good value if under $75.

The Quality Inn on Milton Rd. was adequate, but there are many better options in Flagstaff.

We love animals, but the rooms smelled of pet urine and old cigarette smoke. All of Arizona is non-smoking now, yet one of our rooms still had a noticeable smoke odor. Many Flagstaff hotels offer pet accommodations; this was the first we've stayed in with such a pervasive "dogginess."

This hotel should have a designated pet wing or floor and inform guests if they have to take a pet room. Barking dogs woke our traveling companions every morning.

Beds were okay, pillows fine, bath towels small and rough.

Breakfast was free and worth every penny; the coffee resembled Pennzoil.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Spend a few dollars more and stay at the Comfort Inn or Fairfield Inn across the street.

if you are looking for a no frills place to sleep, then this is your place. Breakfast was just your typical pastry & boiled eggs. We opted for breakfast elsewhere. The room was okay...beds were a bit hard and did not appear to be queen size, even though that is what we paid for. We will probably stay at a different hotel during our next stop in Flagstaff.
