Howard Johnson Inn - Flagstaff
Ranked #55 of 65 Hotels in Flagstaff
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Our family stayed at the Howard Johnson one night on our way to the Grand Canyon. When we checked in at around 10 in the evening the front desk clerk was less than friendly just chatting with one of his friends who just stood there watching while I checked in and then went back to chatting as I walked away. I probably wouldn't be very happy if I was working the night shift but even a simple welcome would have been nice. The room was basic but clean, just as you'd expect for the price you're paying. One thing we noted was that we reserved a Queen bed but the bed we got was certainly smaller than a queen. Breakfast the next morning was the same, a few pastries, pieces of bread, two types of cereal, and plain oatmeal. One thing to note is that they don't provide shampoo so bring your own if that's important to you. If you're looking for a nice hotel experience, I'd look somewhere else, but for the price you pay its about what you'd expect.

We stayed in a double queen, which was lovely-huge, modern bathroom and a large room as well. Rocio, at the front desk, was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful! The location was conveniently located close to the freeway we needed to go to our next-day Sedona destination! Wonderful!

When visiting the Grand Canyon on March 15th 2013 we stayed in this Motel for two nights.
We chose this location based on earlier reviews on Tripadvisior and were surprised by the room and its cleanness.

Our room was fitted with a small refrigerator, heater, TV with lots of channels, Coffee Maker, bedside lights to use while reading, The WiFi is free.

At the end of the row motel rooms there is a room with a washing machine ($ 1.50) and a dryer ($ 1.00) both operated on quarters only.

The only negative thing we could think of is the train that runs past the opposite side of the motel. This train runs 24 hrs a day and heavy cargo trains produce some noise. If you are a light sleeper don't forget to bring earplugs.
