We booked the HoJo because we had Wyndham Hotels points to burn. We thought it was OK but not especially memorable. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and all the essentials were there, but the furnishings were dated. Not sure if they are trying for a retro thing or not, but an incredibly heavy padded living room chair is not a great choice at the work desk (actually a table). The TV (not a flat screen) sat inside a cabinet whose doors did not swing out more than 90 degrees, so you could not actually watch the TV unless you were directly in front of it. There appeared to be new fixtures in the bathroom, but no tub. Wifi worked without a hitch. No breakfast as there is a restaurant attached. As with all motels along this stretch of Route 66, train noise can be bothersome. Heater worked fine on a cold night.

Room Tip: If train noise bothers you, ask for a room in the second building at the back of the property.

I stayed here for 1 night in the middle of a very cold time (4degrees) and the room was freezing cold when I arrived. I could not get the gap heater to work efficiently, so had to change room. When I went to reception, the guy on reception seemed reluctant to do this, but after some talk, I did so. In the room one of the lamps was out, so I had to go back to get a new one. Again, this seemed a little of an effort. The room itself was good. Large and comfortable bed. Overall, a pleasant enough stay, but the service was a bit of a disappointment.

My overall experience here was great I was really happy with my stay and the rooms were always clean and housekeeping was great! I like how the rooms are update and cozy and not like other hotels stuck in the 80's or 70's .The mattresses were very comfortable too they must be new as well.I was especially happy with the customer service given by the front desk lady's Rocio and Chevy these lady's were so nice and so helpful. They were of great assistance and really welcoming and that helped me tremendously given that I am from out of town. The knowledgeable staff was also really informative about all the local attractions. This hotel in my opinion is excellent, great price, friendly helpful staff ,good housekeeping, everything in the room always worked and I stayed during a snow storm and the parking lot was always plowed. TWO THUMBS UP! And 5 star service thank you Howard Johnson for making my flagstaff stay extremely comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights, while we were visiting the grand canyon. The room was clean, and expect a lamp everything else was in working order. We got an excellent room with a view of the pool and got to see brilliant sunrises on both days. the room was pretty big and the bathroom was also spotlessly clean. There are a couple of excellent restaurants within a mile of this hotel, which adds to the wonderful stay. We were also very satisfied with the breakfast options available.

Room Tip: rooms facing the pool are the best choice as you get to see the brilliant sunrise.
