Very unexpected. Holiday inn express is noted for comfortable beds. Definitely not the case here. They have put a plastic sheet under the bedding. I asked the desk clerk and she replied unapologetically "it's to prevent bed bugs" it was the first time I've heard that. It you're looking for the trademark comfort of holiday inn express don't stay here!

Dear franflysc,

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to leave us a candid review. I would like to offer a sincere apology about the plastic sheet under the bedding and the desk clerk attitude. While we understand that your stay was not 100% satisfactory, we would hope that you would give us another chance to make your stay as best as it can be.

Sincerely,

Facility is okay but they need more mature desk staff. At night, they left desk open while they smoked outside and it was clear they weren't happy about coming in. And they allowed guests to party outside and the next morning, the front was littered with beer bottles until midmorning. But the rooms are clean and the restaurant staff are great.

We stayed during the memorial day weekend. It was a busy hotel with lots of children running around! The hotel did not disappoint us. Clean rooms, wonderful breakfast! We enjoyed the continental breakfast, as always. My boys LOVED the pool! It was an indoor pool that extended outside. The hotel is located very close to I-40, so it was the perfect stop for our family of 4. Will return again!

After our car broke down on what was supposed to be a one day trip, Sears Auto employees were substandard, refused to help unravel the mess they made, and caused us to be stuck for the night. We stayed at this hotel for the night and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Sears should send their employees and managers to observe how to take care of your customers so you can stay in business. The hotel was very clean, the room was nice, and the amenities provided were very appreciated after a day full of frustrations. One of the employees went out of her way to find chargers for our phones, and even loaned us her personal phone charger. Holiday Inn Express is now my go to place to stay.

If I had my time again, I would bypass this hotel like there was no tomorrow. After driving all day, I was looking forward to a comfortable rest at what looked to be a fairly decent hotel based on reviews and photos. What I was faced with was a run down hotel with the most uncomfortable beds I have ever experienced. The beds were so rock hard, it would have been more comfortable to sleep on the parking lot next to the car.

In terms of the hotel, you could see the upgrades (or more like patch jobs) which really set the tone. If you ever swing past this place, go to the elevator bank and look at the edges around the elevators - it just sets the scene. Why a hotel would not sand it back and re-paint is beyond me. Plain and simply, this place is rough.

The only half decent thing about this hotel was the free included breakfast but then there is a Denny's across the parking lot if that's you thing.

Staff when questioned about the hardness of the beds indicated that all beds were the same. Found the staff to be a little unhelpful.

This review sounds harsh, but it's the truth. Stay away until this place gets real! This is the second holiday inn I have stayed at in the last couple months, and I can honestly say, I will never ever stay at this chain again based on these two experiences.

We were going to stay at the Radisson right next door after a long day at Grand Canyon, but my wife felt safer at the Holiday Inn. The price was $50 more but I gues you can't put a price on peace of mind. The hotel was quiet and very comfortable with a clean room. The free breakfast was a nice surprise with pretty much everything needed to start a day.

Room Tip: I personally felt paying less at the Radisson was fine but the wifey was the over ride!
