Embassy Suites by Hilton Flagstaff

Having never stayed at an Embassy Suites before we decided to stay in their Flagstaff hotel as part of our honeymoon.

We arrived late morning in a snowstorm and asked at the desk if it was OK to check in early as we did not want to drive around town in the bad weather. This was no problem and we were given the keys to our suite straight away.

The suite was lovely, clean and very spacious. It had two queen beds, beautifully made up: a lounge/kitchenette and seperate ensuite bathroom.

We were also informed that the management hold a 90 minute "happy hour" each evening with drinks courtesy of the management. A really nice, friendly touch that unsurprisingly is very popular!

Breakfasts are served in a really pleasant dining room and there is an excellent choice of cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit, or continental. Whatever takes your fancy!

The only problem we incurred during our two day stay was the toilet flush broke which was quickly repaired by maintainance.

This has to be the best chain hotel we have stayed in and at just over $100 a night is extremely good value for money.

We stayed here on our way up to the Grand Canyon for one night. I was expecting a little more upscale but after looking around at the other hotels this is better then most. The rooms were clean but a little tired in the decore.

The breakfast was good, enough varity for everyone and the managers reception in the evening is a great bonus for before dinner drinks. Our teenagers were a little annoyed they had to sit in the lobby for their drinks because you have to be 21 to sit in the lounge.

The pool and spa was closed for the winter but it isn't anything exciting anyway.

Overall this is a good pick for a one or two night stay while in Flagstaff.

This was an excellent suite hotel. The location was right on the main strip, convenient to the downtown and highways. I think we were upgraded into an executive suite, which was enormous (lots of room for the 3 kids to play), but the regular suites were perfectly adequate space-wise. My only complaint was that the part of the bathroom that was closed off from the rest of the suite (toilet and bath) was tiny, and the sink, which had a very large counter, was part of the living room. The room decorations made an attempt at elegance, and more important were clean. What really stood out was the breakfast, which included both cold and cooked-to-order items; there was an enormous choice. The lobby was nice, and the service was friendly.

Call me spoiled, but this my stay was not quite what I expected. Housekeeping was below average. The only clock in the room was not set to the correct time. After repeated attempts to set it to the correct time we gave up and decided that housekeeping would be able to remedy the problem. The next morning before we left I wrote a note explaining the problem and asked the housekeeper if she could set the clock, along with a tip. We came back to the room later that night to find the clock still had the incorrect time, the sofabed was not made up and the iron and ironing board was not put away. Not to mention that our empty tissue box was not replaced. Oh, and the money we left for the tip was gone. Managers reception had popcorn and chex mix snacks one night, popcorn and mini pretzels the next night along with the usual Embassy Suites managers reception drinks. Breakfast was typical Embassy suites fare. Outside pool and spa was closed. You'd think that they would have built an indoor pool and spa with the freezing temperatures in the winter.

Stayed here 2 nights on AZ vacation. Breakfast crowded the first morning, not second. Typical Embassy Suites Hotel. According to dtr, fold out sofa had good mattress. Tried evening reception one night. Had dinner at Beaver Street Brewery and Whistle Stop Cafe both evenings. Fondue great, Chocolate Bread Pudding huge. This resturant isn't listed in Flagstaff Resturants. It's only a few blocks from the hotel. Better than some Embassy Suites we've stayed at. Would stay there again.
