“nice hotel, good location, getting into thhe room our only problem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Before we arrived we felt this would be the best stay for the area... the girls at the front desk were very nice, made us feel at home... the problem was the room wasn't ready, they said an hour, it took two.. the cleaning staff, must have had a break. that evening we had had dinner reservations at 8. we went down to their bar. Kelly was the bartender... she was great... we sat at the bar, she informed us of the area, was just a perfect people person. she made our stay

Room Tip: We had a .2 bedroom 2 bath room. good choice. traveling with adult daughter and her other half

This is a nice hotel.. nothing drastically different from other hotels of this kind but one thing that we liked was during happy hour in the pub, there was a masseuse at hand giving neck and back massages.. very nice.
we rode in with a bunch of harleys from Bike The Best in Flagstaff and the hotel looked after us very well.

This hotel caters to large groups with lots of kids, like traveling sports teams. If you are with a lot of noisy pre-teens then this is the place for you!
The rooms are big, the breakfast is nice and there is no security to make sure hallways stay quiet late at night or early morning. So you will be able to act out as much as you want!

From looking at the pictures of King Suite, it seemed large-separate bedroom and living room. Also, review said it's large enough for 4-6 adults. Well, I thought it's big enough for our little two girls to run around, but it was much smaller than I expected. Even, my oldest 6 yrs old girl said, "Mom, this room is small. How are we all gonna stay?" when she talked into the room. Good thing, my girls are petit, so it was fine. I say, the King Suite is good for 2 adults and small kids, but not more. Definitely, not big. Breakfast was good but crowded not relaxing, so went only once and went out to eat. Manager's drink is free bar drink or something. It was a long line so never used it while we were there.

Since we were traveling with other family members including our toddler grandson, we originally booked two executive king rooms that we requested be adjoining. When we arrived, we were told that executive king rooms were not side-by-side like what we wanted. We were offered other options that wouldn't have worked so we ended up with one executive king room and one standard king room on the same floor around the corner from each other. Not ideal but in the end we were all pretty happy. I'm grateful for the front desk staff member who worked very hard to try and accommodate our request.

I mention all that because the two types of rooms have some differences that might matter when booking a room. The executive king room has a much larger living area - ideal if you have kids and need to set up a crib and train set on the floor. It's amazing the amount of stuff a toddler has to travel with. That few extra square feet of floor space makes a difference. The dining table in the exec king rm is also moveable so you can push it out of the way. The one in the standard room is a little peninsula that is fixed onto the wall - it juts out taking up room - and there were lots of moments when we looked at it in exasperation and wished we could just move it out of the way. All this might matter when you have more than two people staying in your room.

The other differences are minor - you get bottles of water and a couple of extra snacks in the exec king room and the bathroom fixtures are newer, where in the standard room there are no snacks or water thrown in and it's a little more dated (but not by much). Otherwise, the layout is basically the same.

Aside from the differences, we had an overall nice stay. This isn't like most of the Embassy Suites we've stayed at in the past - for one, it doesn't have the big central enclosed atrium where all noise echoes up to your room. I like the way this place is set up because once you get out of the common area, it's actually pretty quiet. Also our rooms were pretty quiet. We did hear someone stomping around upstairs but nothing that prevented us from getting a good night's rest. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was typical and small but we got enough towels and plenty of hot water.

The location is close to many restaurants and backs up to the NAU campus. We came to Flagstaff for sledding and found a nice hill on the NAU campus that we could walk to. Making a left turn out of the hotel driveway is tricky - the main road is right there in front of the hotel. And there's a traffic light that's a little inconveniently placed.

The manager's reception was great. Everyone in our group loved it, especially the free wine, beer and drinks. I've had different (fried) snacks at other Embassies but chips and salsa or flatbread and hummus are way better than fried beige food any day! Loved the fresh popcorn as well. The one member in our group who had never stayed at an Embassy was totally impressed with the manager's reception. Our group would plop down on the sofas in front of the fireplace with our drinks and snacks and relax every afternoon. I just wish I had seen the manager at his/her reception to thank them for a great amenity. (Note to Embassy manager: Please come by during manager's reception and meet your guests. We're quite loyal to the Hilton brand so it's always nice to place a face with the brand.)

Since we were there on weekdays, breakfast was not full at all. We usually came down between 8-9:30 every morning and there was always plenty of food and plenty of room to enjoy breakfast. The omelet line was never a long wait and the options are so varied that anyone can find something to eat. Also, is there some rule about not putting a tip jar on the counter where omelets are made? People were putting dollar bills on the counter right above where the omelet fillings are kept. I would hate for germ-filled money to fall on my food just because it seems presumptuous to put a tip jar up there.

The staff members are great. Housekeeping came to clean up our room while we were at breakfast one morning which was really nice. Breakfast staff members kept tables clean and were friendly but unobtrusive about it too. And I've already mentioned how the front desk helped us with our room assignments, making sure we were happy. Great customer service at this hotel.

My daughter complained that her room was too hot - her thermostat came on and stayed on till it was so hot, they just turned it completely off. And this was while it was snowing and in the teens outside. Our only complaint about our room was the ice inside the window frame that formed during the night (poor insulation). The hotel is dated and at some point, these problems will be resolved through updates and repairs.

Yes, I don't like that wi-fi isn't free when it is at other places but if it mattered that much to me, I would stay at those other places.

We would likely stay here again if we're ever up at Flagstaff. It's in a great location, the staff is wonderful and helpful, and breakfast and manager's reception are both nice amenities that are included in the reasonable room rate.

We drove up to Flagstaff to go skiing and stayed at the Embassy Suites. We were early, but they were able to get us in our room right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the happy hour and included breakfast. The hotel is only about 25 minutes from the hotel, so it was a perfect place to stay. We will definately stay there again when we go up to Flagstaff to ski.

I going came back soon,Nice experience, everything 10. Good breakfast.I love this hotel. Some people review are very dishonest about breakfast and they say there are a lots of people in each room, this is a lie.I enjoy room and breakfast.
