I travel for business and like the BW chains. This one as others is clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows are comfy. The free breakfast contains many choices. Some of the small stuff, but matters, is the quality of the shampoo /conditioner/moisturizers provided in the rooms- a seemingly small detail, but a nice bonus for my experience at this location.

Thank you for your review. And thanks for noticing our in-room amenity package. Rates are rising in Flagstaff, but also is the value. We upgraded our shampoo, conditioner, lotions, soaps etc in the rooms this year. We have also upgraded our breakfast offerings, and based on the responses of many of our guests, it has been very positive.

Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon on your business travels.

Rooms were very clean, The décor was up to date. plenty of parking, upgraded without asking, and great staff all for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was fine and not in a cramped room Will stay again when in Flagstaff again. And on top of this throw in a internet connection that gave me no problems and was plenty fast.

Thank you for your positive review. During our slower season we often try to upgrade our BEST WESTERN REWARD guests to a larger room if available. Our breakfast room is much larger than most, and rarely to guests have to wait to find a place to sit. The internet connection is excellent, and I know, I live in the hotel during the week and use it every night.

Thanks again for your comments, look forward to seeing you again soon!

I stayed here for two nights in October 2013.
It's right on route 66 and is in a pretty good location.
There's a complimentary breakfast for guests in an adjacent building which was great.

There's very little traffic noise considering it's right on the main highway,
there IS however a fair bit of noise from the nearby train lines. If you're a light sleeper this may be a problem, I found it noticeable but easily tolerable.
The room was clean and tidy and came with everything you'd expect including good wifi.
There's also plenty of parking & it's only a short drive into the Flagstaff CBD.

The vending machines are prone to thieving your cash - you can get reimbursed from the front desk, but after a couple of times I just found it easier to walk to the nearest gas station.

All in all, the price was fairly comparable and I'd stay here again.

Thank you for your review. We have upgraded our Wi-Fi to meet demand. I am happy to hear your comments on our Breakfast. I travel quite a bit myself, and have not found another BEST WESTERN core brand that has the number of breakfast offerings we have. We are adjacent to the BNSF Railway, but it is considerably quieter than a few years ago when they actually blew their train horns/whistles as they were coming and leaving town. We have a vending contract with a local company that services our machines, and whenever there is “Thievery” we will refund our guests.
Thank you again for your positive review and we would look forward to having you stay with us again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 3 week South-West holiday. The hotel is easy to find, right on old route 66 and had plenty of parking adjacent to the building. This turned out to be useful as it rained during a lot of our stay.

The staff were all polite, and gave us a free upgrade due to me being a Best Western Gold card member. The room and bathroom were clean and well-appointed for the amount of time we stayed in them; which was basically sleeping. You can hear trains rumbling and tooting their horns on the railway line, which runs right across the street from the hotel, but they weren't an issue. My wife, who is a light sleeper and wears ear plugs, experienced no sleep problems. I kind of liked the trains; they added to the nightly atmosphere.

Parts of the hotel decor are rather dated, but that is never a problem to me. I go to a hotel to stay in it, not to judge it as if I'm part of a TV makeover programme. Everything in our room worked without problems. The breakfast area was perfectly adequate, not as large a selection of items as we're used to in English hotels but it was fine for a few days.

We didn't use the pool area, so can't comment on that. It was an easy drive into the town centre and there are several restaurants a very short distance away too.

If you're looking for a base to visit the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and any other surrounding attractions, and don't plan to be in your room too much, then this place is more than adequate.

Room Tip: There is no lift to the second floor, so bear this in mind if any of your party have mobility issues...

Thank you for your review. Many guests use Flagstaff and the BEST WESTERN Pony Soldier Inn & Suites as a base while exploring Northern Arizona and its National Parks and Monuments. We also provide ear plugs at our front desk for our lighter sleepers that might hear the trains. Other guests will leave the TV on low volume at night to drown out the Route 66 noise and train traffic. We do not have a lift/elevator, but if our guests need assistance with moving their luggage to the 2nd floor, we are willing to give them a hand. Many hotels in Flagstaff do not have elevators, but if requests are made requesting qround floor rooms, they are generally met. Thank you again for your kind review!

Very close to the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in with the exception of an airport hotel. There is a freight train that runs every hour on the half hour ALL night long just in front of this location. Older hotel. Very interesting king suite with two full bathrooms

Thank you for your review. The Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad is across Route 66 from us. This is the main line between Los Angeles and Chicago, and this is the route that the famous “Mother Road”, Route 66 followed. A few years ago, the city of Flagstaff, after many years was able to quiet the whistles and horns as the train rumbled through town, and it is quite different today than it was I years past. You can still hear the rumble of the engines and railcars, but the deafening sound of the whistles and horns are long gone. We do provide ear plugs at our Front Desk upon request for our lighter sleepers. Many guests will leave their TV’s on low volume at night to help deflect the train noise. Our two room suites are very popular with our families because of the two bathrooms, two 37” flat screen TV’s, the Fridge and Microwave.

I really like my one night stay here recently. Room was fine, nice and warm in the night and good channel selection on TV! (Also really liked the 'clean' remote, which they say is germ free!) Lovely pool area and whirlpool. The best thing I liked about staying here was the lovely helpful staff, so pleasant and accommodating, and I had plenty of questions for them during my stay! Also, excellent free internet/printer facilities in foyer with free fresh coffee. My room was close to the train line, and yes you can hear the trains but it didn't bother me that much, you get used to it. Flagstaff is a pretty town (hotel is about 3 miles out) and if you have a car, travel the 30 miles or so to the massive meteorite crater (the one from the film Starman).

Thank you for your kind review. We pride ourselves on service. Many of our staff members have worked here for years, some for over 30 years! We are an older hotel that has to provide good service to compete with the newer hotels in town. I’m glad you mentioned the TV selection. We still offer cable TV service, which comes w/ 70+ channels. Many hotels have gone to satellite tv which sometimes offer very limited channel selections. We have enough channels to keep anyone happy, from toddlers to grandparents. Thanks again for your review!
