Staff was friendly, professional, helpful and welcoming. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room as well as the community areas. The rooms appear outdated at first glance, but I believe they were intentionally designed that way as the finishes are not old. The hotel had ample parking and their rates were quite reasonable. This hotel offered a breakfast buffet that was free of charge. It wasn't a five star meal, but it far exceeded the quality of free breakfasts offered by other chain hotels. I left very satisfied! Another very important point- as always I did a thorough check for bedbugs and found NONE! I slept great in this hotel! The beds and pillows were super comfy!!! Also, a big thumbs up to the restaurant located just outside the back door.. The 1889 club offered great food and great service!

For the price you pay, you get EVERYTHING....very nice and clean rooms, really quite, free breakfast, free dinner (they call that snacks!), free popcorn in the afternoon, free soft drinks all-day-long, free 3 alcoholic beverages with the "dinner", pool, hot tub, wifi internet, free covered parking. This "fancy" hotel is attached to the conference center with the air bridge. Located on the edge of NAU campus and walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Staff was very helpful and always wiling to help.

I stayed here just 1 night on my way to Vegas. The service here rivals luxury hotels. Staff are genuine and helpful. My only gripe is my room was pretty dark. Brown carpet, brown faux wood paneled walls, brown furniture; they need to do a reno and lighten the design of the rooms. There were 6 lamps in my room, which seems a bit of a contradiction considering the hotel is LEED Silver certified. If they brightened up the rooms, they could probably lose half the lights! However, who comes to Flagstaff to sit in their hotel room? The service makes up for any design flaws. Included food and drinks are a perk, but for real dinner, check out the Beaver St Brewery! I will be back to Flagstaff, & will definitely consider the Drury when I return.

We have frequented Flagstaff over the years, but this was our first stay at Drury Inn (it has been there for about 5 years). It is adjacent to, and connected to by a second floor skyway, the High Country convention center on the NAU campus. We stayed nine nights, so have a pretty clear picture of this hotel. First we stayed in a "standard" room, then were upgraded to a suite. We guess that about a third of the rooms are suites. So we can describe the differences.

Standard rooms are typical of middle-range hotels: comfortable beds (two queens), good wi-fi service, reasonably large flat-panel TV, comfortable recliner, small refrigerator and a small microwave, etc. No safe. As we were later to learn, the unnecessarily large bathroom is larger than what is found in the suites, although the amenities are identical (hair dryer, dual flush toilet, good shower/tub combo). The hotel prides itself on being "green".

The suites (well worth it, though the standard rooms are fine) have many additional features, including a reasonably large living room with another TV, even more storage space, a separate sink, a larger refrigerator, a small balcony, and a king bed. (There may be other options, but this is what we saw.) Suites also have no safe.

The staff were uniformly friendly and flexible in attitude. We especially were grateful for the attention of Bryan. Housekeeping was above average. There is free covered parking in the garage for the adjacent convention center (connected by the skywalk). There is a reasonable fitness room, an indoor heated swimming pole, and a hot tub. Also a small shop for eats and sundries. There is an abundance of sitting areas, in the lobby, in the dining area, and in an alcove on the second floor.

The extras are interesting. They include free popcorn during much of the day, a free breakfast, three free drinks and a free supper in the evening, free internet, etc. It wasn't exactly matched to our preferences, but it might be very beneficial for a family on a budget, who want to stay affordably in a pleasant hotel. The free breakfast is a hot breakfast, with ersatz scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, biscuits and gravy, plus fresh fruit (bananas and apples), oatmeal, muffins, juices, coffee, etc. It is low-end in quality, but more than the danish/juice/coffee at many motels...and it is "free". Even more unusual is the free supper and 3 alcoholic drinks per person each evening. The alcohol is served in mini-shots so that it takes the 3-drink limit per person for a single regular shot. But, hey, it is free. And the supper, less than what we like (mac and cheese, hot dogs, etc.), may be minimal in quality, but it is free...a boon, no doubt, for cash-strapped families. And for us, even though we partook of the evening extras rarely, it was nice to know that they were there.

There are some negatives, and potential negatives. The hotel is "pet friendly", which isn't great from our point-of-view. We encountered many dogs and were briefly disturbed by a barking dog in our vicinity. The room doors are poorly designed and make loud noises when shut. And our suite looked out on one of the busiest intersections in Flagstaff. But we found that the sounds were generally adequately muffled by the building's construction

The worst feature of the inn, and in the overall scheme of things this is pretty minor, were the elevators. Apparently only two elevators serve both passengers and staff...they are slow, poorly programmed, and move slowly...an architectural design flaw. Nevertheless, during our long stay, we had minimal issues with staff and required no maintenance.

The hotel is in a reasonably good location, especially to NAU but also within walking distance of some nice restaurants on the south side of the tracks, and a longer walk to historic downtown. Entering or exiting the hotel by car seems almost impossible; but if you get directions from staff, it works out OK. The price is quite reasonable, given the quality of the hotel and its extras.

Room Tip: The most pleasant view is toward campus. If you want to see the San Francisco Peaks, you are also l...

We stayed here 4/2013 visiting our son at NAU based on the reviews and were very disappointed. The hotel ambiance is old and outdated, in fact worn and torn. Our room was an odd angle with dark colors, worn stained furniture, and uninviting. The towels in the bathroom were old rough and thread worn. The quilts and bedding showed the same age. The bathroom toilets smelled bad as well. Disappointing to have only plastic cups to drink out of and tiny mini cup coffee maker not worth the effort. The free morning breakfast and evening supper and drinks were crowded with families and food of low quality ( fake eggs, toast and gravy- evening hot dogs Mac n cheese n chili ... really!) ugh. Wishing for some fresh fruit and salads and a glass of wine in an a real glass not a plastic cup! Taking my business elsewhere....

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you didn't like our Southwest color scheme - it's pretty popular in the Flagstaff area. As you witnessed, Flagstaff weekends can be very busy. We pride ourselves on the great value that we offer for our guests from free hot breakfast and hot evening foods and cocktails to free wireless and long distance calls. We hope that you may find your way back to our hotel on a future visit!

NAU is right next door and the 1899 Restaurant was across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful. Yummy breakfast buffet in the morning and an evening snack and up to 3 drinks were free every day. Popcorn and soda are free in the evening until 10 PM. Really a great way to visit Flagstaff and save money on eating out. It is a wonderful home base to visit the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki Pueblo, Sunset Crater and Meteor Crater. Sedona is only an hour away. Parking is free and in a covered garage. Free WIFI is also very nice. The pool can get very crowded at certain times but it is indoors and has a hottub. Check it out before you get changed into swim gear!

Stayed for 4 nights and did day trips to the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Winslow. We chose a suite with two beds and loved that there was a door to separate the bedroom from the bathroom/living room area.

Pros: Convenient location, family friendly, fair price that includes standard breakfast buffet but what I could not believe is a happy hour dinner (chicken strips or hot dogs, pasta with meatballs, baked potatoes, salad, mac & cheese) AND 3 alcoholic drinks, per night, per guest over the age of 21. Dining area around the food will always be packed, so take your food up to the 2nd floor or eat in the lobby by the fireplace.

cons: 2 washing machines,(having a washing machine at all is such a positive, but with other moms on spring break also doing laundry, it meant waiting and waiting....) no in-room safe, bit tricky to get out of the parking lot and back out to main road. This is a green hotel and while I'm all for protecting our environment, I do wonder if part of being green means using practically no insulation between rooms. You will hear every patter of children's foot steps and door slams. Having a small balcony was very nice, a chair out there would be even nicer.
