I booked 2 rooms through a discount site for myself and my family. Huge mistake that leaves me wondering if I should ever use the service again. The rate was decent; not great and less than $5 from what is advertised as full rates. Upon arrival we were told we had rooms with only one bed each when we needed two. We were forced to pay and additional $15 for a room with a second bed. The toilet in one of the rooms sprayed water all over the floor and shower when flushed and the wall paper in one of the bathrooms was peeling off. Another major problem with one room was that the front door didn't close and lock easily making me feel insecrure in my room. Management was helpful in resolving the problems I encountered. I would never go back here or recommend this motel to anyone.

We stayed at the Budget Saga Motel, as a last minute escape from the Phoenix heat, this past Labor Day Weekend.

I can say few positive things about the room... It was more spacious then the Motel 6 that we stayed at earlier. We had a king size bed, a working bathroom and sink and free wifi. We were initially pleased with the room; however, this is where all warm fuzzy feelings end.

After an afternoon of experiencing the charm of Flagstaff, we return to the room to realize that the flimsy locks on the door do not provide much security. This is the beginning of my dwindling sense of security.

At midnight, a shady character accosted our room, knocking on our door asking to come in. Again, at 6AM, the same man visited us, requesting entry. We contacted the front desk immediately and they had no support or action to offer. Any attempts to sleep were interrupted by loud banging that was heard throughout the complex. Upon inspection, it was our midnight and early morning visitor, banging on the steering column of his jeep, an attempt to break it to get the car started. We again, let the front desk know that this was quite unacceptable. Once more, the management gave us no aid whatsoever.

We came back after a day in town, to see the shady character, lurking around the motel parking lot and near our room. That was the last straw; we packed everything up and headed home early. Upon returning the key, our disappointment was met with, yet again, absolute zero support or remedy. They alerted us that the questionable character was a patron of the motel and paid for a week’s stay. Apparently, that money meant more to the management than the safety and comfort of the other patrons.

I have never received such poor service and lack of consideration from hospitality staff. I do not scare easy; however, I shudder to think if this had escalated into a dangerous situation. Yikes.

We made reservations two weeks in advance with Orbitz. Our cost for the room was approximately $50. Upon arrival we were told that they overbooked, and that they "tried to call", and they had no rooms available at all.

We went down the street to the Days Inn, only to find that all hotels were completely booked due to a busy weekend (Oct. 1st) in Flagstaff.

While there, we told our story to the clerk and started making calls. During this time, another customer came in and told the same clerk that they were just down the street at the Saga and were offered a room for $149.

I immediately drove back and confronted the clerk at the Saga, and told him that I just heard that they offered a room to someone. He denied it.

I went back to the Days Inn, and two of the employees were kind enough to make separate calls to the Saga, both of which were offered rooms for $149.

It was apparent that these guys do not honor Orbitz or anything else in their attempts to make a buck. They are scumbags of the highest order.

Stay away.

I had stayed at the Saga previously about seven years ago. We had a room at the back of the complex and it was somewhat modern and clean. It was just what we needed before our Grand Canyon visit. We were very satisfied with our room... Fast forward seven years and I discovered that the Saga has new owners/management. They gave us a room at the front of the complex near a busy street - the wonderful sounds of traffic! The room seemed fine at first, but there was a draft. Ah, there looked to be a one inch gap between the bottom of the front door and the door sill. Good thing it wasn't winter! I then took a walk to the bathroom - Yikes! It looked as if the bathroom had been remodeled about 50 years ago. It was grungy and ready to fall apart - tile falling off the shower area, stained sink, rusty fixtures, etc - I was afraid to go into the bathroom again! Sheeeesh, this room was definitely not ready for motel guests. Hopefully, the Saga will return to its glory days, but until that time, it would be wise to choose from one of Flagstaff's other fine motels. As they say, "Things Change!" Bon Voyage!!!
