After hearing many positive recommendations from Flagstaff locals, my husband and I finally had dinner here. The food was wonderful.
We started with a pancetta salad. I had short ribs. My husband had crab cakes. For dessert we had zeppoles (doughnut and fruit). The menu has interesting dishes that other run-of -the-mill restaurants do not feature.
The restaurant is located in a renovated house that used to belong to the Babbitts, a well-known, early Flagstaff family. The seating is primarily on the first floor.
The second floor has three rooms. At least two of them had angled ceilings due to the roof. We walked through and saw a group of businessmen having a business meeting. I did not like the second floor ambiance as well.
The restaurant is small. Having a reservation is highly advisable.
The bar is small. Plan on having drinks at your table.
Josephine’s has a decent-sized parking lot, but not big enough for a really long vehicle like an RV. There appears to be some on-the-street parking across the street from a nearby school, but I didn’t check to see whether it was posted with no parking signs.
When we return to Flagstaff we definitely want to eat at Josephine’s.
