My husband and I were in Tucson having breakfast talking with a gentleman who worked for ADOT. We told him we were headed to Flagstaff. He said you have to go to this great restaurant for breakfast. So we stopped at Country Host. After we ordered, I went to the car to get something and locked my keys in the rental car. I was upset. I went in and told the waitress..she said don't worry and handed me her cell phone to call a guy in town. Before we finished eating the guy showed up unlocked the car and only charged us $20. What a blessing! So we got great food and awesome customer service and didn't loose a vacation day. Thanks to the staff at County Host!

Service was excellent! Best waitresses in town! Food was out quick and tasted amazing! Ask them about the Farmers Platter for breakfast, it's a great deal and a good amount of food for 3.99$!!!

We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening, the bar attached to the building was hopping, and figure the place must be good.

We were seated, and not expecting a real fancy meal, based on the price, even though the web site states "Fine Dining" so here is how it unfolded:

We were greeted by our waitress, who took our beverage order, brought us our beverages and then took our meal order. 2 of us ordered the "Pot Roast Dinner" and one other in our party ordered the Chicken Fried Steak.

Our food was brought out to us and the portion was ok. The "Pot Roast was quite salty and tasted like it was soaked in canned gravy. The "Green Beans were canned and just boiled, as was the Buttered corn. The dinner rolls were good, and they served them with real butter that was not hard as a rock. Overall, we found better places to eat while we were in town.

We went in for dinner. After a long wait (10 minutes) the waitress finally came over to our table. One member of our party had special food needs (lactose intolerant). The waitress seemed annoyed by questions about whether there was dairy in certain menu items. We asked if there was dairy in the guacamole, and she flatly stated, "I don't know - do you want to order it?". We replied, "Can you ask the cook if there is dairy in the guacamole?". "I guess", she replied. She came back and said even the cook didn't know, and acted like WE were being difficult customers. The lactose intolerant person's burger came with a ton of butter on the bun - which is inexcusable because we made it VERY clear to the lousy waitress that she can't eat any dairy products. The food for all of us was very average, unimpressive. The pot roast is just mushy, sliced roast beef. Basically, if you want to eat the slop they're dishing out, and don't have any special requests, it may be an okay meal, but otherwise I would steer clear of this place. There are many other good food options in Flagstaff, so I definitely will not be returning to this place!

The big draw here is the $3.99 breakfast with 2 eggs cooked to order, choice of sausage or bacon, hashbrowns or country potatoes, and toast (or upgrade for .50 to biscuits and gravy, pankcakes, French toast). Plenty of food in a no frills diner just cranking out good food for a good price, so do not expect gourmet food (and you won't be charged for gourmet food either). It's sad to say that each of our kids had their own as it was less expensive than most kids meals at other places.

Clean and bright with big windows, but it needs a bit of care and upkeep since my daughter found and played with the wallpaper that was starting to peel behind our booth. They pack 'em in, so sit down and get to eating and then make room for someone else.
