I've never been to Macy's [I've lived in Flagstaff 45 years] when it wasn't reasonably busy. That simple fact is about all one needs to know ... customers have been filling this friendly place for a very long time. It reminds one of a European coffeehouse near a university [indeed it's only a few blocks from Northern Arizona University] because it's full of people talking to others it's usually noisy and the seating is close by others.
The menu is exclusively vegetarian; carnivores should eat elsewhere. It's owner is a friendly person who is a Bahai' follower, so the walls are full of black and white photos of ethnically diverse ordinary people with thoughtful, loving remarks. Most of the food is organic and the menu is quite extensive. Coffee is wonderful and Macy's provides breakfast and lunch and dinner.
Usually there are students and laptops on some of the tables, with the occasional table serving as a chess board. Most of the staff are NAU students with a distinctly "granola" flair. Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu.....
