It was really nice to walk around down town Flagstaff. The shops downtown are neat to look at, and the town is beautiful.

Very easy to locate, parking found quickly and a wonderful afternoon of exploring the area. Clean and friendly people everywhere we went.

The plaques on the sides of the buildings were the best part. Most of what is there is bars, restaruants, clothing stores, and new-agey massage and healing centers. There were a few standouts: mix, a salad/sandwich/ice cream bistro, and Peace Surplus, which is the coolest sporting goods store I've ever been in.

My son and I used to love to spend the weekend walking downtown looking at all the shops. One of my favorites was Crystal Magic, so many cool things. I believe I could spend several hours just sitting by the visitor center and watching the trains.

If you want to experience a little taste of south western culture plus artistic talent this is the place to explore. There is a wonderful variety of restaurants right downtown. From BBQ wings at Big Foot BBQ located within a trendy Boutique in the downstairs at the downtown shops located in the Downtown Shopping Mall. You can order Organic salads and also shop on the first floor. Just next door is sushi at Monsoons, hometown cooking at the local Diner across from heritage square and at least 3 Excellent Thai food restaurants within 2 blocks. For a fun adventure check out Incohots-a funky clothing shop that even rents out costumes. Then there are 2 shops called Animas: one that has Bali clothing and another that has every bead possible to make your very own handmade bracelet or necklace. Flagstaff has a wonderful selection of art galleries, a candle shop, a chocalate-candy shop, a down to earth shoe shop, 2 great outdoor gear shops, 2 cool hotel restaurants, and a number of outdoor venues for a cold drink after a long day's trip to the Grand Canyon. Oh can't forget Rainbow's end-with it's wide selection of clothes, shoes, jewrely, and a local artist's art work and there is the local ski area-Snowbowl for skiing during the winter months-only 25 minutes away. What can I say "Flagstaff Has it ALL".
