“Fun, historic, walkable downtown”

This downtown area is very cute with plenty of restaurants to enjoy and various others sites to see. None of the buildings are very tall, so it feels that they have done a good job for a long time of controlling growth. The only challenges are lack of parking, and during the busy summer tourist season there is always a lot of traffic on old Route 66 that passes by downtown. Plan to stay close to downtown and walk everywhere, and you'll be happy.

The Visitor's Center at the train station is staffed by friendly and helpful people. Brochures covering much of Arizona are available. Pick up the Flagstaff walking tour and haunted tour folders - we had a great time doing our own evening ghost tour of downtown Flagstaff.

It is fun to wander around the historical district of Flagstaff. The two old hotels are worth visiting. There are lots of small shops, but I like most the old murals that are painted on the sides of the older brick buildings.

The downtown area is nice, but not a lot of variety of stores. Mostly bars and restaurants. Interesting buildings, but I doubt if I would take the time to go there again.

If you like just having a wander aroudn then def do it, the place is full of little shops and intersting murals on walls. We spent an afternoon just wandering around well me hobbling around on my crutches and every shop owner was so nice and freindly I ended up spending much more than i intended too.
