“Cinder cones and less.”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Seeing as I live next to Mt. Saint Helen's, Sunset Crater hardly compares. It is a nice perfect cinder cone and the drive gets you around some more with a good overall viewpoint. But it hardly compares to the incredible geology in and aroundFlagstaff or Sedona.

“Interesting”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Stopped here on our way from Grand Canyon to Flagstaff. My 13 yr old likes anything to do with science/nature so we thought he would like it and he did. Very interesting to see. We didn't have time to do any hikes. We drove to a few overlooks and did a short walk on a paved trail. Worth the stop.

“Nice walk”

Fascinating place to visit, when you're close you should really go there.I would not drive 50 miles just to visit, but worth it when you're passing anyway.

“Good hike down into the crater”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The morning we arrived the snow had covered the peaks for a short time. The mile hike is an easy stroll down into the crater. Nice stop over on your way to Wuptaki National Monument and the grand canyon
