“Good location but tiny rooms.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2011

Hotel looked charming although a liitle worn on the outside. We were glad to find that the inside was clean, nicely updated and felt like what we expected tor a Fairfield Inn except for the "sized down" rooms. Our room was 1/3 smaller that any other Fairfield we have stayed in--price however, was not sized down. Additionally, pool was ok but not particularly inviting. Also lots of stairs even though we had a first floor room.

My husband and I along with my elderly parents spent the night here while on our way to the Grand Canyon (about a 90 minute drive to the north). We found our rooms to be very clean, very modern (must have been recently updated), and with very nice amenities (coffee maker, extended shower rod, Vaseline and Pantene products).

The hotel is located in a nice area with lots of restaurants within walking distance. This came in handy since, even though breakfast was included with our rate, we decided to eat at the local IHOP instead. The hotel's breakfast room was quite crowded and only offered continental style foods.

Parking was not enough for guests when guests with campers are allowed to take 3 spaces. There was one elevator for 3 floors, our room was on the third floor (the only indoor floor). The carpets were worn, room was small, and the bathroom was even smaller. The ceiling had some types of stains, not my choice of the first thing I'd like to see in the morning. The breakfast included continental items, cold eggs, and waffles. Overall its an ok place to stay if you have kids, or if you just need a place to stay. It definitely was a lower standard than it's competitive Inn's that averaged the same price.

I had never stayed at this hotel before an the rate was about the the same as the Days Inn which I was going to book, so I thought I would give it a try. I was surprised to see just how average and small this room was. It was clean and had everything...flat screen with alot of cable channels, fridge, microwave, ironing board, small little closet, 2 queen beds, coffee maker. I was under the impression Marriott's were a step up from Days Inn, Holiday Inn, etc but this room was just average.

What annoyed me was how unbeliievably small the bathroom was. It was cramped when 2 people stood in it. My husband even commented on the tiny bathroom. I took a picture of it. It was clean I just hate teeny tiny bathrooms. We had 2 adults and 2 kids so a little bigger bathroom is always nice.

Breakfast is included and it was ok. However the only hot food item they offered was waffles. The rest was boiled eggs, cereal, pastries, fruit, yogurt, juice machine, and of course coffee.

Pro's: flat screen TV with a ton of channels, plenty of parking, good location close to a ton of restaurants, very quiet with no train noise. Free internet in room very easy to use.

Cons: Rooms small, bathroom VERY small. Budget hotel basically. No frills and nothing fancy. It is really not worth the higher cost. Still a very decent hotel though.

Overall not a bad place but it is not much better than other budget hotels I have stayed at. I would only stay here again if it was a really good deal.

We stayed 3 nights April 29-May1 because Hampton [our usual choice] had very high rates. Saw Meteor Crater, Winslow, Petrified Forest & Painted Desert j1st day. Second day Arboretum/Lowell Observatory then Wupatki Pueblo ruins & sunset crater. Breakfast not up to Hampton standards, but satisfactory; breakfast room very small & crowded. A few apples & oranges were availale, but gone before weekend was out & a bit past their prime. A microwave breakfast entree ham & cheese ? quiche was tasty - better than expeted. Another nice touch was strawberries & nuts as well as whipped cream for on waffles. One eve when we returned our room had not been serviced, so had to go to desk to ask for fresh washcloths, etc.

Not sure why this hotel is ranked at #16, we had a great stay at the Fairfield Flagstaff. Floor 3 is the only floor that is inside the hotel and the other 2 floors are outside rooms. From my room I was able to see my car in the parking lot and we unloaded first before parking car so it wasn't an issue. The rooms are a bit smaller than other Fairfields but still offers all amenities one needs for a short stay. Pool is very nice and also the jacuzzi was relaxing. Front desk staff very pleasant, room was clean, breakfast was perfect, and hotel was quiet in the evening. Will return and definitely recommend. Easy access off Route 66 or I40.

This is a very nice, clean hotel. It had a great hot breakfast - well stocked and fresh. It's located very near the interstate so it was easy to visit Sedona and the Grand Canyon. We would stay here again.
