A handicap room was requested. This in no way satisfied the request. They placed a ramp at the front door and called it a handicap room. It is old and needs a lot of work and cleaning.

Last minute reservation for NAU graduation & was glad to find a bed. Everything closer to NAU, at twice the price, was full. A few miles East of town and about 4 miles to NAU by freeway or surface streets. Basic vintage motel with room kinda worn but clean. Exterior and lobby have been upgraded,. Owner's wife said vanity and fixtures, that were pretty beat up, are next. Ground floor, non-smoking room with king bed. Softer bed than I like and linens wash-worn but not a problem; brought my own pillow. Appreciated that the room did not have a wiff of smoke smell; maybe why other reviewer had to be upstairs. Missed the coffee pot but coffee in the office, as well as basic muffins/cereal breakfast. Glad to have a frig. Wouldn't have heard the train had I not already been awake; that isn't true of many of the other tourist motels on Rt 66. A fair price for Flagstaff.
