“Well...the coffee is good”

Late for the Train Coffee
Ranked #5 of 16 Coffee & Tea in Flagstaff
Price range: $1 - $6
Description: Late For The Train first opened in 1993 with the downtown Flagstaff cafe and they started roasting their own coffee not too long after, in 1996. Now there are three locations in the Flagstaff community that are supported by their first rate coffee roastery. Over the years they have maintained a level of quality that set them apart from the beginning. In addition to locally roasted quality coffee they offer a unique blend of mochas and chais, such as the Spicy Chai Latte where they give India’s national beverage a taste of Arizona with a touch of spicy peppers. The Coconino Mocha is a rich treat--ultra smooth and made in-house with premium chocolate and their hand-crafted cold-brewed coffee.

Great coffee, consistent service, but the bagel breakfast sandwich is GROSS. Pretty sure the eggs are powdered. Went to buy coffee the other day and no go. Debit machine down. And it's $.40 for that service as well. So, I will stick with my days of cash on hand, needing a good latte!

Designer colors, but not overdone, very local feeling and expert baristas. The owner really knew what he was about when he started this little local mini-chain downtown and en route to the ski slopes. Not to be missed

Driving the highways? On your way to the Grand Canyon? Ignore the Starbucks at all the exits. Get off the highway, stop in the great town on Flagstaff, and go to a real coffeehouse. This place is busy and fun. They have their own roasts too! My husband loved his mocha. I had the spicy chai latte on both occasions, once hot and the second time over ice. There is limited seating but you can stretch your legs as you walk around town.

I stopped because a hotel I stayed at serves it and I wanted some to take home. I got 2 cans to go, and perhaps the best vanilla latte I have ever had. Really. It was that good!

The taste and attention to detail makes it worth the stop.
