If you are interested in Native a\American sites, this is exceptional. We visited after exiting the east entrance of the Grand Canyon, and the park is also joined with Sunset Crater Nat Monument, as a loop off the highway to Flagstaff, so the two very different parks can be visited.
The drive into the park is very attractive, with the varying colors of the arid vegetation and the snow capped peaks of the San Francisco Mts in the distance. Wupatki pueblo sits on it's own in a vast plain and is built of the beautiful native red stone. It is very well preserved (some parts restored) & gives a real sense of what living here must have been like. There is a small museum at the entrance to the pueblo that is informative.
