I love letting my mind wonder about what it must have been like to live in the canyon a thousand years ago. Its a beautiful place to visit but the only way to truly see it is to take the 226 steps so pace yourself.

Many of the Parks in the southwest have some cave dwelling evidence. This Park gives you up close access to the dwellings with hicking pathes right along the rim. Great experience.

This place has to be seen to be believed! Amazing. Be prepared for a steep ascent on the way back from the canyon.

Didn't have a clue what to expect. We were blown away by the beauty. We got there early morning when there was few other tourists. There are two separate walks, the rim trail and what they call the island trail which circles a huge rock formation rising up from the canyon floor. You can see and enter the cliff dwellings that are centuries old. There are quite a few stairs going back up to the rim and the path around the island might make those who are scared of heights a little nervous.
It's not far outside of Flagstaff and only 5 bucks per person.
