This was a wonderful surprise. This small museum is housed in a beautiful historic Arts adn Crafts building. We visited prior to going to Grand Canyon. Follow docents instructions to start with the geology first and then a wonderful display of native peoples arts and history including the Anasazi. When we were there a Zuni Festival with gorgeous arts by Zuni artists on display. Fantastic museum store. Would go again, so much pakced in a samll space.

I have been here before but this time I went to attend the Zuni festival of arts and culture. They had many vendors featuring their talents in jewelry, pottery and fetish making. We saw two cultural events- a group of family dancers who did several dances and attended a talk on the Emergence of The first Zuni. I learned a bit about the Zuni culture and did buy some jewelry. The items they make are quite beautiful and delicate looking. All in all it was a fun day

Went for the Zuni festival. Lots of artists from the Zuni Pueblo were there. Had a great time talking to them about their work and the meaning of the colors and symbols used. Prices were really good. Lots to see. Really enjoyed the music and dancing. The Olla Maidens danced while balancing a pot on their heads. Amazing. Photos were allowed without having to have a permit unlike at the Pueblos.

Finally visited this great little museum, packed with artifacts from previous local cultures -- pottery, weapons, baskets, jewelry. Intriguing bookstore, plus a museum shop with impressive contemporary handicrafts and jewelry of silver, turquoise and other stones.

This museum is a gem.so many old artifacts from the ancient Puebloans and different Indian tribes of the past. Beautiful surrounding grounds and there are nearby trails to hike. Don't pass it by!
