“Beautiful in the snow”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

The area had an unseasonal wet snowfall( Apr. 14) and while touring this great museum, you could look out the windows at the snow and icicles. The displays were very well done and informative. Saw beautiful pottery from many time periods, and the Navajo rugs were wonderful to see.

“Nice Musuem with Diverse Subject Matter”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

We visit the Museum of Northern Arizona a couple of times a year and still enjoy it each time. I’ve recommended this place to a couple of friends, and they have come back with positive comments, and thanked me for suggesting it. My tween daughter enjoys it as well. Compared to a museum you might find in a major city, it is one the small side. Set your expectations accordingly. However, the exhibits are well done and very informative. They cover a diverse range of topics, such as anthropology, geology, biology, paleontology, and fine arts in a somewhat limited space. In addition to their standard exhibits, they have exhibits and art displays that change, so there is always something new to see each time we visit. I have never attended any of their lectures, but friends that did enjoyed them. The building itself is unique as well, with walls constructed from local rock. It located next to a small canyon and in addition to visiting the museum itself, I recommend you take a stroll down some of the trails behind it.

At the time I wrote this review, they charge about $10 for adults, and have discounts for youth, seniors, and students. This seems reasonable. If you are in the area, I’d suggest you consider a visit.

“Small and limited exhibits”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

We had high expectations about this museum, expecially about the geology section but found the actual exhibits very small and limited, not like they are advertasing in their own web-page. The ethnology gallery about the Hopi, Navajo, Zuni, and other Native American was a little bit better but the fine art gallery and jewelry gallery we found modern and boring. Generally, I like museums, but it's hard to recommend this museum.
