The first building had a couple of fun activities, but if you want to explore the rest of the campus you had to go on a tour. The tours were 45 minutes or so and they were good, but you needed an entire day to go on every tour.

Went at dusk, and wished we had gone earlier and stayed longer. Be prepared for long lines, but definitely worth it. got to see Saturn, was fantastic. Heard a lecture about the planets. Wish we had more time there. Would definitely go back.

With the combination of its historical contribution to astronomy and its current scientific endeavors this is a place you must visit again and again. The night programs are fascinating and most offer visitors the opportunity to participate. This is a true must-see if you're visiting northern Arizona.

Lowell Observatory is the place to go to answer that question! Lowell is where Pluto was first discovered so they know Pluto. We went on 2 guided tours which were both fun and very informative. The interactive exhibit was a blast ( sometimes literally). Great visit for both adults and kids.

I did not visit the observatory as they were closed at 6am however; I did drive to the top of the driveway and I was able to take some great photographs of the mountains with the sun rising and also of downtown Flagstaff!
